Floating the idea of riding around the East Cape between Christmas and New Year.

Most likely dates would be 29th to 31st December.

Rough Plan:

Day 1: Auckland to Gisborn via Whangamata, Katikati, Tauranga, Opotiki, Gisborne
Day 2: Gisborne to Whangamata via Hikuwai, Ruatoria, Opotiki, Tauranga, Whangamata (Perhaps detour via Rotorua)
Day 3: Coro Loop then home for New Years Eve.

There's every chance I'll even do this solo if nobody wants to join me but the more the merrier.

I'll be on my Sports bike but the pace won't be fast - its a crazy time of year and I've no death wish. All level of riders and bike styles welcome - as long as you can do 100km on the open road we'll get along fine.

Expectation is that if you're faster then you wait at an appropriate spot for me, if I'm faster then I'll wait for you. Everybody to ride at 90% please.

Please post your interest in here, I'll add it as a calendar event if it firms up.

I'm in Sth Isle. Was intending to incorporate this route for the ride to Wgtn. but due to time constraints we are running to Wgtn by most direct route.
Boring but true. Enjoy it.
May be keen around March if you want a rerun.

No idea as to where I'll be staying, mostly likely just find a Top 10 Holiday park or a back packers.

Alrighty then, so here's my plan.

I will already be down near Waihi prior to this ride starting so.

Please txt me on 0211 904 281 if you are going to join me.

I will meet anybody travelling from Auckland at the BP Service Station in Waihi at 11am, will depart @ 11:30am but only if I recieve a txt message from you ahead of time.

If I don't recieve any txts I'll be working totally to my own timeframe.

I say again I won't be going fast - just cruising so I'll appreciate the company of anybody, regardless of bike style or age (rider or bike).

If anybody else is keen to meet at some other point along the route please txt me also.

Please note I won't have internet access leading up to this ride so please txt or call

Cheers
