Anyone else got mechanical breakdown insurance/warranty with these fullas?
Hope you have had your one-off premiums' worth... seems that they have been in ye olde Liquidasion del Maris over the past two weeks.
And the underwriters (Virginia Assurance if i recall my policy document correctly) are saying there is no agreement between Orbit and Virginal Assholance to underwrite motorcycle mechanical warranties.
A year with my RS WAITING to get fixed under warranty by a mechanic who went into liquidation, foillowed by the actual warrantor going into the drink as well.

Over a year at least?
Policy began last year, received brochure from workshop a month-ish before that, and had spotted a few big/reputable dealers around the place having Orbit products. Figured should be a safe bet... :(
Underwriters (Virginia Surety...not assurance, my bad) have been around for donkeys years, and the ratings company (AM Best) likewise, and specialises in insurance.
This is more of a note to any KBers (or OAers in general) who have OA and are in the midst of a 'covered' repair...

So no warranty was ever underwritten by this Virginia Assurance I find that hard to believe. Check if orbit was a agent and took the money on behalf of them because then you may have a case to get your warranty paid. Don't give in easily the NZ company going under doesn't mean anything if they were an agent of Virginia Assurance

Trying not to give in/up aye...not the best time with companies going on Christmas break etc. and still having to work myself.
Weekends when I AM free, of course underwriters etc not open!
Looking on Companies.Govt, Orbit goes to AON/Virginia so will give AON a go too...

Hehe... :)
Doesnt sound like other KBers have been shagged by these Virginal Screwity bastards yet... guess there ARE other warrantors out there like Protecta that hopefully will keep right-side-up.

Looks to be directors. Liquidators are another couple guys whom I have spoken to and sound like decent guys.
Do have to ask tho out of curiousity...who is K/Carl Rusher?

Yeah I seem to have got burned as well. Fortunately the BM has not needed any work so my "worthless" warranty has not been needed, but still I am right pissed off.
Anyone in the whiteware industry knows warranties are a license to print money. You sell them at huge commission and the number of times they are called up is negligable compared to the money you coin off the appliances that do not break down. The crooks at Orbit seem to have applied the same nodel to motorcycle warranties, betting that teh payouts would be far below the new warranties coming in. My communication from Vurginia Sirity and the liquidators suggests that Orbit NEVER had an arrangemetn with Virginia and have completely misrepresented themselves to the public.
The Orbit policy looks great, and includes logos from MTA and the AA among other legitimaye businesses. I am 8 months into a two year warranty and I want my money back. Fat chance I know but I will be persuing that with the AA, and Emoto who sold me the "policy".

flick Gus Jenkins ofInsolvency Management (gus@insolvency.co.nz) a copy of your policy document if you can.
They are the liquidators and I've been in comms with them (only before and after the Christmas break of course hence the big time gap!)
Heres hoping sending more evidence of the misrepresentation and fraud to the authorities as Gus describes can put these Outdoor Advantage lowlifes where they should be. And we can get some sort of reimbursement...
