Dunno who knows or not but I'm family so I can post it.

Driftn crashed his bike in a stupid commuting accident on the way to work (which turned out to be hospital) this morning.

For those that don't know, Luke is the likeable one amongst us three reprobates.

So he's in Welly hospital surgical ward right now, awaiting a bit of work on a sore leg. In true Mair fashion, he's done apretty good job.

Anyway, go see the rotten little cocksucker and give him arseholes. He'd probably appreciate a bike mag to read as well.

Well its been a while so I thought I would give all the kind people on here an update as to where im at recovery wise.

Well got my cast off 2 weeks ago now things seem to be healing good in the leg, how ever I complained about a sore calf muscle (thought I might have pulled it some how) the doctors thought I should have an ultrasound to see whats happening, I'm not pregnant thankfully. What they did find how ever was indeed a case of the old deep vein thrombosis. Not good at all.

Now I have been injecting myself with a blood thiner called clexane and taking warferen (aka rat poison) to thin the blood to eat away at the clot.
I also have to have blood tests every 3 days which is starting to piss me off.

I still cant walk around properly yet, have been using on crutch at times and others walking very gammy like with no help at all but the pain gets to much and end up with a kankle.

As for the bike I pulled it apart the other week got the broken clutch cover off only to find the clutch basket is also smashed. F@#K it. thought it was to good to be true. Any way new parts are on the way and bike will be going in a few days which will be very hard as I still cant ride it due to having no movement in my left ankle.

Will try attach some pics of the x-ray as soon as I work out how to compress the file.

Cheers for all the kind words folks it sure is nice that there are people out there that actually give a shit.
Im out piece.

will young man you have done a good number on that there ankle...... but it is well time to harden up an start walking on it to get that joint working again. just a word of warning when you start physio and they start forcing your ankle joint to move.......OUCH!!!!! :angry2:

Had to laugh when i saw the xray as i have an IDENTICAL one of my right ankle. Follow the rehab rules and you'll be good as a new. The kankle throb is a real pain, and when you drink beer watch it grow!!!!:eek5:

They told me 6 months aswell, i was back at work 9 weeks later on lite duties an that was when i still swung a hammer.... ACC just don't cut it.:oi-grr:

Well I finally got all the bits apart from a front break lever for my bike threw it all together on tuesday fired her up and took it for a pootle to the end of Deans street and back, being very carefull as I learnt my leason from riding my 750 with no breaks (that didnt end well at all).

Cut a long story short I dont yet have strength in my ankle to change up gears so will reverse the shift pattern and hope to be in a psition to do the winter series (against doctors orders).

felt really good to get back on the horse for the first time in over 2 months.
Thats my story stay tuned for more.
Cheers peeps.

So I finally got the last bits for the bike yesterday, a set of sexy new rearset's chucked them on and the temptation was just to much I had to get back on the horse, Rode her in to town and all is good.
was the most nervous I have ever been riding down maungaraki hill. There is a god 4 inches of chicken strips on both sides of both tyres.
One thing that has to be said though is, Fuck its fast. I kind of forgot how much of a weapon it really is.
5 months and 3 weeks to the day and I am allowed to race it.
but whos counting any way.

Really good, heaps of adjustment. Only problem is they dont have a bracket for the rear brake light switch. Not a problem tough as long as you apply the front first, which almost every body does. A really good price to, cheaper than buying one foot peg hanger from a dealer.

You could do that but there is alot of holes in them that all have thread for bolts so it might be a bit of a fuck around. Also you cant really see the gold bits that are on them. Mostly black any any ways.
