230 must be weird with no fairing. So they say its a "remapped" engine of the cbr made for more low end or what ever. That sound true or just a detuned fireblade engine?

basically, the old CBR motor was never that great anyway, so it kinda suits being in a naked bike, the motor felt more like a Uber torquey 600 sportsbike motor, but thats all good

re-mapped? It puts out like 111hp down from the 160hp or so from the same motor in the CBR1000RR from last year. I think it's a bit more than a re-map!

It was ok but I was kinda hoping for more than just wheelie after wheelie, and "Sidewinder" could do with some speech training lol (dyslexic much?! :baby:)......Carver seems like he can string a sentence together......either way 'twas'nt that bad, and the wheelies are better than mine, i'd have to make a video myself before I complained about this too much......would have been better without the "presenter" but I did'nt hate watching it. Not at all - it was labeled "CB1000 Test", but it should've been called "Couple of young guys show off on the public streets and do a few wheelies, then stretch out what is not very much content at all to fit the soundtrack."

Hmmmm...maybe.
It could've shown a wee bit more of the bike's details, and there's some real basic flaws, like pacing, too much repetition, obvious lack of any scripting. I mean, if you're going to make a documentary (or is that "mock-you-mentalry"?), and have the cameraman asking questions about the bike, make the questions less banal, and the answers less waffly (or alternatively, make it a bit more outrageous and less serious). Work out beforehand what you're going to say, and what you're going for: serious and informative? Pisstake? Comedy? Action movie?
There were some good bits - the effects added a bit of interest and interviewing ServiceStation Dude was a nice touch.

Making them for a particular audience is fine - and obviously your perogative.
But (however!) take on board the comments, and the quality (and audience) should improve. There's some good raw material there - just needs some more time spent on planning and editing.
F'rinstance - you said twice in your post, "this is a great bike". The video didn't really illustrate what you thought was so great about it.

we only had is for 1.5 hours!
In that time you managed to test handling, brakes, top-end speed, acceleration, wheeliability, etc., and gauge (some) public reaction to its appearance.
The video didn't need to be 90 minutes long to show that. Of the 6-and-a-bit minutes, there was some unnecessary repetition of footage, which could have been replaced by (for example) close ups of parts of the bikes, commentary about what you liked/didn't like, comments about handling, braking, design, colour, etc., or another random interview with Joe Public.

Yea it would make it awesome if you could actually make it with a hint more seriousness but still keep the MFSC style to it. It could even turn into something people actually use when they are looking at bike options, rather then just for a laugh, but both. That said, you need to do a top speed run and 0-100 (assuming 0-50 actually) test on one of those motorised scooters you stand on. And some knee dragging around kaiua-clevedon! lol

I'd have to say carv, the camera handling has got a lot better, the dialogue is still the impromptu off the cuff attempt at conversation style (dont worry, it's entirely normal, and obviously the style you're going for)
but imo too many post production filters, I dunno what you're shooting on buuut if you can get hold of any type of polarized lens (preferably a graduated polarize) this is what top gear uses to get amazing looking shots (but they also use film on external shots too so there ya go) BUT lose all the colour change, over exposed stuff, it's just fill material, here's something I was taught by the media "every shot should be relevant" if it's not then leave it on the floor, having funky post effects is great and all for say the intro and the outro, but the viewing in the middle gets very difficult to watch.
I'd actually like to see some proper crafted dialogue, but made to sound amaturish, sort of like bill and ben, or jonos new show type stuff, I guess there's having amature dialogue, and there's professional sounding amature dialogue (that's a bit fucked up i know) but try losing the changes in the tone to your voice, speak naturally and it'll sound much cooler.
I'd like to do something similar but dont have the funds (I wouldn't host due to lack of experience, maybe co-host)

im shooting on a panasonic NV-GS90 and a ATC3k
im not sure about a lens for one of them!
im fully with you on the dialouge, the shots are a bit mix and match, more camera's would solve that!
we do our best, and we aim to get better and better without loosing our flavour

have a look around the lens, if there's a thread either on the inside or outside then you can buy a wideangle converter, which would make some of those close up shots look real nice, then you can attach a filter (graduated polarize)
yeah, more cameras, less post production.
I'd suggest you guys try doing a segmented show, make it 15 long, have a review, a challenge and some news, see how it goes?

I was thinking more like bill and ben, real slapstick mish mash of segments, cut away to a short clip about the dangers of queing causing death through carbon monocide poisoning.
top gear is very formal (very british, perhaps that's why aussie top gear is so shit) I wouldn't recommend anything similar to top gears script or style, merely the lens cause it's cool.

whats your problem with us, all the wheelies were from 30mins riding the thing, we shot the whole thing in a bit over a hour, try do "impressive" stuff on a bike you dont know.
not everyone will like it, but if you cant do any better, your grasping at straws.
i was on limiter in 2nd and 3rd gear to end the wheelies.

No real problem mate, Im more concernead about ya health i dont wana see ya in a chair ir pushing daiseys, I think you guys will grow up to be decent riders/people... like the fate thread its just a warning to watch ya selfes remember I seen a lot a shit over my years of riding.
However what you numbskuls do aint "impressive" stuff its shit anyone can do, a decent wheelie aint hitting the revlimiter, its about balance not forcing ya way through it under power... but ya learning.

thats a bit rich.
been riding for 11 years, the last 9 of them on the road, and we are already decent riders.
you try doing wheelstands on a bike you have only just got on and doing them 50m+
at the end of the vid i was getting the hang of going through the gearbox.
this is one of my wheelies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQhvFTJGbOA)

Ummmm, actually Dangerous is one of the few guys I've seen who will/can pull a decent wheelie within 5 minutes of any bike he gets on for the first time. And it doesnt matter how rare/exotic it is. He'd be pretty sorted after 30 minutes on a CB1000R!
PS. But after watching the whole vid and your DRZ effort, they're ok!
Maybe a slot on BikeRider TV?

Well, what is the test result? Apart from "looks good / an a good handling?"
To me this video shows some nice wheelies and some impressions of the CBR1000R but that about it... A proper bike test looks different.

been riding since you were bearly a twinkle in ya old mans eyes, and Im still learning every day I ride, am I decent, well Id like to think Im half way there who knows "decent' has a different definnition to each indervidual.
Ohh and as far as the DRZ vid goes, I have already said thats a bloody good effort, bit different on a CB1000R aint it?

Go the mighty HONDA
I kind of like the funky 'backyard' style you shoot.
My only bitch if you desire feedback is the music on most U-Tube bike vids - always loud and heavy. I don't have a prob with that music style but for me it should be very much in the background and turned down. I like to give my knob a twist  to reduce it but then I need to wind it up to hear any speaking.
Did I mention I like to give my knob a twist............

haha, only one twist eh?
we used DR feelgood by motley crue cause this bike was a bit more along that kinda style, plus i felt it went with the editing.
i would like to use some new music, more like movie soundtrack kinda stuff.
i guess we cant please everyone.
i would like to make this better, but its a matter of practice.
we have come along way, and we have a long way to go

Good job, another good vid. This vid showed a fair bit of you riding it and wheelieing it (wheelies are neither big nor clever...*tui*) but you obviously gave it a good work out, so why not tell us a bit about its good and bad points in the vid? Ie handling, power delivery etc. Obviously you have some good will with bike shops if they lend you out bikes knowing you are not just the average sunday rider, (you are a capable rider to be sure), utilise it and tell us more about how the bike goes...while also entertaining us!
Look forward to the next.

Im still not sure why you are called the mormon few stunt crew, after all the vids i have seen i havnt seen anything crazy yet or any thing along the lines of stunts. Nicley put togeather vid and its a nice bike but i think some more wheelie practise is needed maybe some long stoppies
