Invercargill is a bloody long haul! We arrived at Teretonga on Wednesday hoping to have a practice but the rain and lightning had its way instead….
We managed to get on the track Friday for 2 quick sessions, first impressions of track were good although I didn’t have much confidence on my current set up.

Saturday qualifying, made a few adjustments to the geometry and qualified seventh

Race 1; This race was restarted due to a first lap crash. On the warm up lap I felt a bug hit me in the neck then on lap 3 it started stinging me! I had a lonely race and finished in 7th position

Race 2; I just rode consistently and the guys around me had some troubles of there own and allowed me to finish in 5th
<SUP>
It was a bit disappointing with the lack of entrys for the weekend and even though I have a great position in the championship its not really that satisfying but im still happy with my performance being my first time on the track and given my lap times I would have still placed in similar positions with the larger fields from last year…

Good onya Choppa! For a Teretonga virgin your lap times were pretty blardy impressive.

There's alot to be said for staying out of trouble eh? That's the strategy I apply as I plod around behind everyone else waiting for 34 other riders to come to grief so I can take the chequered flag...hmmmm, hasn't panned out quite as I thought but I'll keep waiting......and waiting......

Nah, the fact you fast fucka's could come a gutsa, push the thing back to the pits, make repairs, have a cuppa, get re-scrutineered, get back on track and still beat me kinda shoots my plan to pieces.

I'm envious a shell of you blokes riding those tracks though. Hopefully my work roster is a bit kinder to me next year and I get to ride 'em myself.....but unless I'm possessed by the ghost of Joey Dunlop I doubt it'll be as part of a Nationals campaign.

Good luck mate, you're going well!

After watching the forecast on the news - I wouldn't be holding ya breathe for much sunshine on sat & sun. Fark it! I'm still going to watch regardless.

Some good bastard Honda rider hooked me up with a free pass to get in.:clap:
