Hello

I have a n00b question :)

See attached photo, I have removed a stone from in the tread, The stone dug its way in and had worn away at the grove on the tyre. This tyre has only gone 188km :)

Is this very common with stones that get in your tread ?, Is it reasonably safe ?

Cheers in advance

That tyre is fine. The wear hasn't gone through to the belts, and still plenty of rubber, so no worries.

Your tyre will be fine but we are interested in how the stone is doing - is it expected to make a full recovery?

Give it a few hundred more ks and ya wont see where the stone was

If it was a piece of glass or metal it could have worked it's way through the rubber... It pays to frequently check your tyres for embedded bits and pull them out.

But yeah that should even out once the tyre gets up to temp a few times.

Hehe your looking at a tyre and bike that has only done 180km :), Its now done 640.. yeah I piled a bit more on over the last couple of days, the strips have almost gone :) The rear tyre still has a 3/4 of an inch shiney un scrubbed section all the way around on both sides. The front have a 5mm unscrubed on the outside :) I doubt all wear indicators are going to dishapear in a hurry hehe.

And bah, I still love my Hyosung :) I know they are not the most powerfull and agressive 250's around but its a bigger framed bike, I thought it would be a easyer progression to the sporty 650 I have always wanted for many years and never done anything about getting my lisence... until now.

:)

Cheers to all those who have offered there help :Punk:
