Goodness. Do you suppose there might be other bikers hidden somewhere in the murky depths of the Waikato ? Not even Mormons, maybe? Sort of a North Island equivalent to the moa or moose in the South Island ? My stars, do y' suppose there could even be a lost tribe of them somewhere in there ?

Well, that's just what they said about that fish fossil thing - y'know , not actually a fish, more of a sort of gigantic marine woodlouse. Supposed to be extinct for a bazillion years, then one day it rocked up for breakfast just like it had never been away.
I reckon an exploration party should be sent into the Waikato. Properly equipped, pith helmets and such like, to see if they can find any spoor of the Lesser Waikato Motorcyclist.

Why is it a good thread? (Serious question?).
A biker was down in Auckland also - should we all run around calling every biker we know to see if its them or not?
- Sorry I know that this sounds harsh - its not aimed at you - its just me trying to point out that there really is no value in the threads at all.

acually its worse than that. there's little value in many threads. These kinds of threads sometimes show the really worst of people.

Yeah, that's the fellow. Knew he had a name. I suspect that Mr GIJoe is distantly related to him. I bet Mr C went out , a bazillion years ago or so,said he was just going for a short ride up to the shops, then did the Mr Joe thing and just kept pootling, until everybody gave up waiting for him to get back, sent someone else for the chips , and drank his beer cos they thought he was extinct.

John has been a close family friend of my family from way back when I was just out of nappies, a tragedy that he has been taken from everyone that loved him. Sadly his younger brother was taken in a similar way, in a similar location in 2003.
My sister was married to their brother.
I hope the strength of this family can see them through yet another tragic loss.
A bloody great guy, they both were. A very sad day indeed.
