from what i've heard about pumper carbs it will turn that nice slow even power delivery into a kick butt super fast throttle responce, so ive heard.

Guy didn't seem to know much about it. Got it for start price of $140. If its a TM40 i got a real bargain - if not we will have to see. I can benchmark the performance against a mates DRZ400 as we have exactly the same acceleration and top speed at the moment and I will have it on for Teretonga 1st March which is the next road race I have scheduled.
All i need now is the larger header pipe, stickier tyres, and better suspension etc etc etc.

Even if it's a TM38 you'll get better low/mid performance.

Wonder if it's actually ever been on a DR650 before?

Looks like it will fit straight into the DR and even has the right looking throttle connection. It has no identifying code on it but it is a 38mm pumper carb. Ideal for a quick throttle response but no good to me as I need the top end flow at full throttle. Sick of having the KTMs pass me on the straights! I have just gone to the dynojet stage 3 jets to get a bit extra fuel through at full throttle and thinking of removing the air filter completely for race circuits and maybe going up again in jet sizes above the max 160 dynojet.

So anybody looking for a 38mm pumper PM me. I paid $140 plus postage which is probably cheap anyway, but will sell for whatever I can get as it's not what I need.

Anybody got a big bore header for sale?

Apparently I came 9th equal out of 21 in the support class of Nationals round 3 at Levels! Who would have thought a DR650 would have been able to do that eh.

The yanks get DJ jets up to 170 in their DR kit :(

Doesn't a 38mm pumper flow the same as a 40mm CV? Or is that just an FCR vs BST thing??

When the bike needs work the Hi comp piston will be a go-er, they are quite cheap too. Yep, got plenty of web cam footage of me from a mate who races a DRZ400 with an on board camera, he usually follows me for 2/3 of the race before getting past. He has a few videos of us diceing, going a bit sideways and even me riding off the track when a Kawasaki sports bike decided to widen his line when I was trying to pass. Will see if he is going to put any up on youtube and let you DR fans know.

Ha ha! Silly me, thought it was a funny way to put it in your post. Problem with DR's is they go on forever and it will probably be ages before the motor realy needs work. But when it does I will be doing some performance mods, or more probably getting someone competant to do it for me.
