Finally popped the manfeild cherry. what an awesome track. It all started on the practice day with me feeling pretty nervous about choosing the race class to learn the track, as the fast class looked pretty quick to me. I settled down very quickly though, the speed difference didnt seem quite so bad once we got out there. learnt pretty quickly that apart from the infeild left hand hairpin you have to throw the bike into the turns to make best use of the camber. by the end of the day pulling consistent 21's so pretty happy since I had'nt even seen manfeild before. moment of the day goes to very nearly highsiding coming out of Higgins, paul buckley reckoned my left leg went over my head, but somehow I saved it(pure luck) without even leaving the track.

Race day and I was entered in Pro twins and F2. Qualifying could have gone better but I was still pretty happy with 11th in the F3 feild and 9th in F2.

PT R1: got an absolute blinder of a start, 5th into turn 1 and proceeded to put my head down and get into a nice rythym, ended with a great battle with craig green on the last lap which he won and deserved, congrats man you finally got me and I look forward to continue our great battles for the rest of the season. finished 8th overall and 1st in PT. pleased to be back in the 21's

F2 R1: another good start but once those 600's got control of there bikes their power to turn one was just too much for me to get them, had a great bettle with a 600 for a couple of laps before passing him at the infeild hairpin and after him returning the favour a few times i finally got in front at turn 1 i think and proceeded to pull away quickly. finished 6th and into the 20's

PT R2: after my blinder start in R1 the row in front of me looked at me on the grid and all turned their front wheels to try and stop me getting them off the start, and despite another great start there were no gaps. this put me in a vulnerable position in turn 1 where a few slower riders got round the outside. About 4 of us then ended up in a battle with a factory aprilia for what seemed like ages. he was out of control in the corners with his bike moving around alot, not surprised to find out he fell off before the end. I passed him about 6 times but he just kept coming back past on the straights. finally got past him into higgins by getting past him and another bike to put someone between us heading down to dunlop. by this stage all the bikes i would normally battle with were a whole straight ahead. 9th overall, 1st PT. After 5 races in pro twins I have won them all so pretty pleased with that.

F2 R2: best race of the day. had an awesome battle with paul buckley and mark boyes for the last 4 or 5 laps that was so good that on the slowdown lap the marshalls at the entrance to higgins were all clapping and cheering for us. awesome battle with only 2 10ths between us at the line.

All in all a great weekend I hope everyone enjoyed it

not doing the nats, might be a bit deep of a pool just yet. i hope to be doing the vic round at taupo and the odd round at manfeild, most likely the 2 dayer tho. makes it worth travelling. im just really happy with my progress so far especially with the lack of mods to the bike(only fairings, subframes to hang them, braided lines and rearsets) and the trusty old diablos to punt me round. nothing like doing it on a shoestring. have fun guys. see you at round 3
