Well Sunday dawned warm and sunny so was the perfect day to get away from it all and blow the cobwebs out. Loaded up the better half and off we went. Stopped in at the coffee cart in Otaki around 10:30 for the morning fix, if you get the chance they make a very passable flat white and the bakery down the street makes the best custard chelsea buns for $2 each. Lots of bikes around but not a lot of waving going on (must be me)

So north we go, tun off at Kimberely and take the back road through Shannon to Massey, hang a right and off towards Pahiatua. Coming out of Eketehuna we started to notice that it was getting seriously hot on the old Bandit, looked down at the thermometer at it's reading 39, on the bike, at speed.

So a nice stop for lunch under the shade of a tree (heres a new one, hotdogs for lunch are really easy if you wrap the sausages in tinfoil and leave them to heat on the exhaust pipe whilst having a coffee, nice)

Hot as all the way through the Wairarapa but a nice run over the takas, through the Hutt Valley and back over to the nui.

All up a little under 350Km and a great way to waste a day. Did me no end of good and reminded me again why I love riding...

Thanks for a good read. Makes me want to get the bike out of the garage.

That beats an hour at counselling session, but funwise and pricewise :)
