On a brighter note...

After our extremely shitty year last year, and spending most of January sick as hell I finally gave in and went to the hospital and my GP booked me in for an ultrasound to make sure there was nothing nasty going on after having Evalyn. On the day I was due to go in for my ultrasound I had a gut feeling, maybe wishful thinking.......

I'm sorry but I'm really having difficulty containing myself after finding out I'm already approximately 6 weeks pregnant :gob:
Neither of us can quite believe it!!! Its so hard trying not to get to excited again.. There is definately a long road ahead and I'm not in the safe zone yet, and will be pretty much be treated as high risk until we are handed a healthy screaming baby.

So now we're waiting on my first ultrasound in Whangarei to give a definate date, then we'll be looking at ALOT of trips to Auckland for ultrasounds as they'll be following this pregnancy very closely compared to last time.
:sweatdrop Makes me nervous but I can't wait!

UPDATE:

6 weeks ago I had a ultrasound in Whangarei to confirm the fact that I was 6 weeks pregnant. All they could tell me at that stage was that I was definately pregnant, everything was positioned correctly. But it was to early for a heartbeat.

The past 6 weeks have been absolute emotional hell!! Sleepless nights, high stress levels, anxiety, and terrible nightmares. Today mum and I travelled to Whangarei for what was to be my 12 week ultrasound. (Thank god for mums I couldn't do this without her support).
11.30am came (appointment time) at this stage I was ready to vomit on anything, everything, and anyone. I felt so sick it wasn't funny. 15minutes of waiting and I honestly was begining to become extremely agitated.

Finally my time came. I promised myself I would hold myself together but the minute this wee little bub appeared on the screen I just burst into tears.

The scan went EXTREMELY well. Fluid levels normal. Baby was the size that they had expected. Took a long time for the little bugger to stay still enough for them to do measurements!! Kicking and punching, and rolling all over the show. I can't feel it yet! NT measurement came back as 1mm anything under 3 is fantastic. And last but not least, a perfect little heart doing just what it should.

So before I came home I had a meeting with an obstrition. I can't even begin to describe how I felt being told that this baby is "low risk." The figures were all there laid out in front of me yet to me they still seem like such high risk figures.

So roll on the next 2 weeks (more tests at 14 weeks). Then another ultrasound at 18 weeks. Time I put my brave face on.

So, do tell when is due date?

It has been a serious eye opener for me since losing my daughter as to how many women have actually lost a baby or even more unfortunately 'babies'. Women that I would just never have known otherwise. Its truelly terrible. Your left feeling hopeless as a mother not being able to protect your baby and make sure that they are okay. (Best way I can explain it even though none of what happened was ever my fault). This little ones pretty much my saving grace, giving me something to look forward to even though each day that passes I'm more and more terrified.

Due date is the 1st of October. I'm counting the days!

But this baby did look like they were trying to stuff their own thumb in their ear at one point!

I did ask cause I really wanted to know. Am hoping baby is a girl cause if baby ends up being a boy he's going to have to wear girls clothes for a wee while  The lady did say that at 12 weeks a girls bits are still at a stage where they look alot like boys bits so it becomes very easy to mistake the sex. Doesn't mean I wasn't looking though. Certainly nothing on the photos that even remotely looks like boys bits. Oh well.. I'll know in 6 weeks!

Decided to follow my gut feeling that this baby would be a boy. Confirmed today at 18 weeks and 6 days that we are now waiting for the arrival of our precious little boy in another 21 weeks! AND WHAT A BOY!!!!!!!! He's lazy and all he seems to want to do is rest. (Despite our poking and prodding in an attempt to make him move so we could take a better look. Huge comparison considering my daughter just wouldn't stay still).
Everything is perfect from what was seen again today. And everything done so far all is looking absolutely fantastic. I have decided against putting him at risk by going for further tests. Difficult decision to make but I feel its the right one.

Officially made it to 37 weeks today, it feels like a milestone. Had a bit of a scare 5 weeks ago with contractions and spent the night in whangarei being monitored. Had everyone worried that he wasn't going to stay put. Finished up at work and have been busy resting, and stay put he has! Baby is considered "baked" and it wouldn't be an issue if he was to come now rather than his due date. :sweatdrop

Believe me there are certainly no concerns about this one being little. At 37 weeks babies developed enough to manage on the outside world (lungs etc) so we won't be needing to rush to Whangarei. He'll just be spending the next how ever long getting fat. Not going to think about the c word right now though, everything will be sweet.

Will post up as soon as baby arrives *hugZ*
