Video camera interference?

A while ago, someone mentioned in a camera thread, that a V-Twin engine can interfere with video camera images...

Can anyone enlighten me further on this problem?

I use an ATC2K on the SVS, mounted on the end of the handle bar, and do get some kind of weird wavy interference - like a flag waving in slomo...even if the bike is stopped so it is not just the road vibration. Stops when the engine is off...'twould be good to cure the problem if possible - although I suspect that this is a vain hope...

I managed to reduce mine to an (almost) acceptable level by locking it solid with 100mph tape. Went around and around until she was a solid mount.

Tried it on a GSX and got the same unstable image.

I had the same problem with mine, particulary when mounted on the bars. The solution was to mount it more securely to the frame of my Bandit, while keeping some high-density foam between the camera and frame. This reduced the interference to reasonable levels, although the vibration at certain rpm was still obvious (about 4000 rpm - other Bandit owners will understand).
