Recently I decided that my old tween seasons Jet Leathers jacket was getting a bit old and saggy and that it was probably time to think about replacing it.

Quasi recently advertised a $1 auction on Trade Me for one of his new QMoto Viper jackets. It looked great. I was not the successful bidder, but one thing led to another and now I have a new Viper.

The delivery was extremely quick. I unpacked it immediately, checked it for obvious and glaring imperfections, of which there were none, and then I modeled it for Mrs H. The fit was excellent, and attention to detail and standard of build just as good as should be expected on a high quality leather garment. Mrs H gave it the Official Thumbs Up.

The zip-out thermal vest is a nice touch, and the zips are already fitted should one ever feel a desire to attach the jacket to matching trousers.

On Friday evening I got my first opportunity to take my new purchase out for a ride. We went out for a bite of dinner at the Black Stump Cafe in Pahiatua, via Mauriceville (the Shiver wanted to play), and home via coffee and cake in Palmerston North.

Based on those several hours in the saddle, I'm very impressed with my new purchase. Unlike some motorcycle garments, it has obviously been designed by somebody who rides motorbikes and who understands what works and what doesn't.

Highly recommended.

Good stuff Mr H! Looks good too, must say I really like the colour scheme!!! :2thumbsupWell done Quasi, another satisfied customer eh! (I was going to write a review of my new squid suit a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't be arsed, and well, it wouldn't have been as exciting and full of gastronomic delights as yours, only chewing gum stuck to the bottom of my new boots:( )

Dood! You bought a jacket that matches your bike! You're:
a. In love, and
b. Saaaaaaad. Sad, sad, saddo, sad.

My Quasi gear is delectable. I got my Tourismo pants on Friday. Shin guards! Pockets! A full width Waist Zip (it's a long way to go too) fastenings that don't involve dubious hook and look fastening pads.

A riding report will follow, when I get to go riding.

Similar thoughts about my new Rapid Blue Quasi jacket that Mr Quasi all but gave away on Trademe. Very happy.

Very stylish Mr H.
What is the point in having a pack rack and then placing the aforementioned pack on the pillion seat? Where has Mrs H been relegated to??? Surely she cannot fit into the bag?

Spiffy - colour matched as well!

I'm waiting for a call from my 'leather guy' as my old faithful needs a few 'adjustments' and he'll give me a honest opinion on its life span.

If its short liven and not worth doing Quasi will get a call.

Nice jacket, Mr H!
Shame about the Ventura rack - very practical, but it does the looks of your lovely new bike no favours.

Thanks for the write up Hitcher appreciate it.

Tell me what do you think about the length? I added a bit more cover over the lower back.... considering so many are wearing Jeans and the like these days.

Perfect, just perfect for somebody riding a sit-up style bike like what I do. Crusier riders should enjoy these too. Sprotsbike riders may get a bit of front bunching though.

Can you please post the length of the back (from collar to bottom).

Mr H., how do you find the cuff fitt over your gloves; snug and long enough?

The Length is 75 cm from top of collar to bottom (at the back)

The jacket is designed for the gloves to go over top (sportsbike style) reason is that gloves carry alot of armour these days and to accomodate them all inside the jacket sleeve would make the sleeve very big, additionally 90% of riders wear the gloves on the outside to

cheers

Thanks Quasi,

Looks like 2cm longer than my current jacket, which is long enough so that is great.

Re gloves.... I just find on wet days my gloves get wet with water running down the arms into the glove if the glove is on the outside.

Mr H. - sorry for the threadjack - back to your regular programming.

I wear my gloves over the jacket sleeves. The only time I don't is when wearing my GoreTex jacket.

The reason I asked is it looks to me in the photo you posted, your gloves are tucked into your jacket sleeves, not over the jacket sleeves.

It depends on ya gloves mate, most of ours go underneath as well as over top, but gloves with masses of plastic on the wrist are hard to get under.

Those are cuffless Teknic summer gloves. That's probably why.

I like the shortened logo, less intrusive.
And hmmm, I've always tucked my gloves into my jacket because the gloves are quite short, I shall try the other way around.
