Not long to go now!!!

:2thumbsup :sunny: :2thumbsup :sunny: :2thumbsup :sunny: :2thumbsup

We finish work tomorrow (Thurs) and head to Pukekohe really early Friday (departing Wgtn around 4.30am) for the racing. Then Monday we head back to Wgtn, and catch the 5.30pm sailing for the wonderful South Island for 20 days of touring around, wherever the sun happens to be shining.

My M1000 has had it's 10,000km service and is all ready and waiting in the gargre. Hamish is taking his R1100S, which has just had it's 80,000km service and is also waiting patiently in the gargre.

So I won't be around for a while, as it's unlikely I'll be on the site while away.

I'm hoping to catch up with a few of you Mainlanders, so if I do, you might like to make a posting to say I'm still alive and that the M1000 is running well (she says optimistically!!).

When I get back I'll let you know, and I'm sure someone will precis the events of the previous three or so weeks for me.

Ride safe everyone.

Thats great Lynda. Maybe even see you when you hit the good old South Island. Gixxer is right, back some warm wollies as the early mornings are quite chilly. Have fun and ride safe

We will try not to break the south island for you this weekend...

Or stir up the locals...

Good on you Lynda, I'll spot you sometime when you get back, not that I'm home much myself these days - work trips unfortunately not biking but at least the boss is paying.

I received a message from Lynda last night to say she is in SNOWY Queenstown, and heading for Alex today.

Yep, there is snow on the ground down here, and a frosty road for today's ride to work. Have we just skipped autumn and gone straight to winter perhaps?

Yeah Wellington's summer that lasted about 5 weeks seems to be over too.

Have a great, safe trip. Hope the M1000 performs sweetly and reliably and that you have no unforeseen problems.

Happy riding.

Enjoy Linda!
If you find yourself cruising around ChCh, drop Kickaha myself or Dangerious a line if you've time to spare for a catch up, a friendly face and a coffee.

Mobile number being PM'd to you now.

Take care :niceone:

If she doesn't she'll get a slapping next time I see her,of course last time her Ducati broke down so she may not make it this far without mechanical assistance anyway :shake:

A further update on Lynda.

Yesterday I met up with Lynda and Hamish at Omakau. A very pleasant suprise was to find that Hitcher and his wife were there as well. They arrived from the Oamaru direction and came into Omakau only a few minutes after Lynda. So we all enjoyed a pleasant outdoor lunch with great views of the snow capped mountains all around us.

Hitcher and Jane headed down to Dunedin, while Lynda and Hamish followed me home for coffee, then continued back to Queenstown.

Today, Lynda and Hamish are heading for Te Anau (2 nights) and intend cruising on through to Milford Sound tomorrow.

They are having a great trip and asked me to pass on to everyone that they are having a fanatastic time. :sunny:

And you lot know to drop me a line when you are in Chch (cell# in user notes) I'm on the Main North Rd just before the motorway so theres no excuses for not dropping in :apint:

I met up with Rider in Black at Roxburgh on Thursday, and while we were chatting, Lynda and Hamish rode into town from the East. Now for those of you who don't know the Roxbugh area, out to the east is almost all gravel roads, and sure enough Lynda actually had road dust all over her back wheel. She was so proud of the fact that she voluntarily rode on gravel that she got Rider in Black to take a photo of her back wheel as proof.

Yesterday: Lynda Hamish, Scumdog and myself all met at Roxburgh again for lunch. While we were there Slim and a goup of 4 others rode past. We caught up with them for a beer at Alexandra. It appears that all these North Islanders just love our Central Otago Roads.

Mrs H and I met RIB and Roxanne at the Shell station in Geraldine earlier this week (Tuesday afternoon, I think). We also met a pommie dude at Picton last night who we'd stopped to chat to a week or so back on the Milford road. It's a small world!

Omakau must rate as the "capital of the small world"...
