I was getting a bit disturbed that there was no ride announced at this stage on a Thurs so I thought I better take action. Do people usually meet up at Wgtn MCs and Maungaraki even when it's not announced on the site? I'm keen to go for a quick blat anyway - so who else is in?

A ride has been mooted if the weather clears which it should. Normally it's a case of rock up at WMCC at 1800 or the bottom of Maungaraki Hill at 1820.

it's even starting to shine in Jville :) Roll on hometime... i'll gladly ignore my backpain for the stress relief of a decent ass whipping by a Honda Jade 250...

Given last week's spectacularly unsuccessful attempt to organise an "other" ride, I too may convert to the R ride this week. And take out the ST, rather than the Marauder, on which I have done a whisker over 1,000km since Saturday. A quick fang to Greytown and back last night did the job just nicely...

A 'Jade' does sound like just the kind of bike that one would enjoy receiving an arse whipping from, doesn't it?
Feminine, but with a soupçon of naughtiness.

Ah well, at least it's something I can aspire to...

Hey, it's not a learner bike - I've had it for 3.5 years!!! It's a high performance machine, cutting edge of technology and all that.

Hmmm. me and my 3 collar bones are going to have to skip this weeks antics. Im still sitting in Marlborough and wont be back until 8ish. Had the collarbone been in better shape I would have been keen for the planned mini-moto races! Maybe next week?

None what so ever. He was very well behaved and rode on no footpaths, never tackeled a round'about backwards, didn't do a single wheelie or enter a dragrace all night.

Last Thursday night after the pub, Hayden and I headed up through Normandale, and you see there's this really tight, off camber corner. Now I do know that road well, but ummm, it was dark, and I overcooked it a little bit and there was some gravel right at the edge of the road. (Had absolutely nothing to do with the few beers I had or that Hayden was pushing me along of course).
I could have leant it over a bit more but seeing as there was gravel, and I had slowed down to about running pace, I decided that a handily positioned driveway entrance might be a better alternative, hence I took a slight detour for 50m along the footpath. The best part was hearing Hayden pissing himself laughing as he came alongside, over and above the noise from both engines.

I got a pucture (actually 2!!!) in the morning, So had to ride a new 900ss home!!
I hate my job!
Only thig was, that the m/cyl was leaking. So ended up with no clutch fluid!
Clutchless gear changes are no worry, its just trying to stop for traffic lights is an absolute pain in the ass!!!!
Specailly in rush hour traffic!
Had some funny looks when blipping the throttle to change down.
But the bike still sounded good! AND LOUD!!

Me too. I didn't get away from home until 7.00pm. So I shot up the Hill to see who I could find- no one was there. Chatted to no one for awhile then went home. Not a good conversationalist but no one never disagrees with me. Guess that was you I passed Vtwin. Atleast we waved at each other, which is more than I can say for no one.

Well, apart from the times when they stopped for a rollie (and a wheelie or a stoppie), after they had disappeared into the distance at Warp 8, I didn't actually see much of the "other half". Mind you, somebody has to bring up the rear...
Still good fun though!
