Just wanted to say "thanks" to all you guys & gals who have helped me with advice and suggestions along my decision making ride to trading up from the KLX250S to a bigger bike.
And "thanks" to all of you for your kind comments & encouragement after (finally!) getting the DR650 today - really appreciated it!
See you on the road - or preferably off it! :woohoo:
(ok that's your lot - I'll be back to my normal cheeky, sarcastic bastid mode tomorrow, heehee!)
(actually I'll just be in drooling at Toppys mode tomorrow!)

it is a little worry just how thin the bottom of the engines are, not much down there at all.
to look at the damage to paladins bike, its more of a graze than a direct hit, very interesting...

my mate works at the alloy boat builders, he did some alloy cast welding on my XR600 side case, so i guess he will eather fill the hole, smooth it out, or place a small patch over hole and weld around it.
and i think a new skid plate wont go a miss eather... aye dave.......:done:

All in good time... All in good time.
1) Rejet
2) Exhaust
3) Petrol Tank
4) 351 kit.
Then, if budget permits, possibly a new seat. Kinda used to it now though...

That all looks good mate! :niceone:
Did you take the pillion strap off yet?
Seat was 100% more comfortable after I did that - probably just down to my fat butt sitting on it but hey it really did feel much better with it off!
Sam, if you decide to get a Ventura Rack for the KLX, just buy the L Brackets and I have the Ventura Sport Rack (thats the lower rack not the high Pack rack) you can have for it mate, no worries, if you want it - its in brand new condition! :2thumbsup

First time I took the bike apart for a good clean, the strap never went back on... Would never be used even with a pillion (girls can't help themselves when it comes to clinging to me.)
That sounds sweet as with the sports rack! Will take you up on that! Was thinking I should get something for it soon, my rear plastics are getting a bit scratched up now!
