Just Go into a book shop with a pen and paper....
Yup you do the same questions as the car L License
then 10(i think) motorbike specialist questions all at a rip of price,
but only after you pass a $40 ride around the cones session to prove you can ride a bike. And if your lucky enough not to be broke after getting your license you might be able to afford a 250cc bike....
been a while since i did the test, is it the excate same questions as the car road code? or are there any different ones?

I can *lend* you mine, but I want it back when you are done :-) PM me your address.
You have to do al thirty questions regardless of whether or not you have your full car license I believe. I had to do the whole lot and I have had my learner car license for two years or so. There are 10 specialist motorcycle questions.

Actually, at the moment it is very hard to get a copy of the motorcycle road code here in Auckland. They have withdrawn the old 2004 edition because of the recent changes to the rules, and the new 2005 version will not be available for 6 to 8 weeks. Because "we have to do the car one first cos that's what most people want. Then the HT one"
However, according to Dave Hebden , the Road Code editor at LTSA (nice bloke) there are no changes to the questions (they need an Act of Parliament to change these apparently), and the rules changes are of course on the web. So if you can find a 2004 edition it will still be fine (adjusting for the new rules)
Typical bureaucratic incompetance though. Change the rules, then worry about reprinting the road code to match. :brick:

35 questions
must get last 6 correct -of first 29 must get no more than 3 wrong.
New Road Codes are available "shortly" what ever that means.
Questions the same as old test papers although you should be aware of changes to road rule that allow for another 32 offences that now carry demerit points that can add up to loose you your licence.
also new following distance guides which have always been the cause of some failures when doing practical road tests.

But they almost gave me my full cage licience from being a learner just because I had a full bike licience. Was pretty suprised when they sent my new one and it said that I'd had my full cage as long as the bike licience. But hey I'm not going to complain.

Hey man!!!!
I'm in christchurch too, just got my licence a few weeks ago.
Just go into the central library, they have a few copies there....
Best to read the whole thing, it's got a few good riding tips innit.

Same test as the car test really.
My 'Bike' test had a question about under 14s wearing seatbelts, I queried about this, the agent said to answer the question, I asked how many motobikes have seatbelts excluding sidecars, she said to answer the question, I though better not to argue. I got the question right anyway.
Only took me a months to find a sticker L plate to attach to the bike, the plastic ones seemed to come off at *cough* 70kmph.
