The new Stebel Magnum had its first real trial this morning...some silly old fucker  decides he doesn't have to wait for oncoming motorised velocipedes and proceeds before the way is clear. I, despite my eternal patience with other road users, leap at the chance to deploy the new warning device...:devil2:. Aaaahehehe...old dude jumps about twenty feet in his seat (I exaggerate for effect you understand) and boots it to get out of the way of the oncoming "truck"...I could hear his bum "twang" from metres away...dem hawns definitely work better dan de factory ones... I sniggered my way to the nearest gasoline dispensing centre with an evil grin beneath the helmet...

I've been wanting one for awhile now, but could never find one under $200 when I actually had cash!
Doesn't matter if the noise kills them, so long as it saves me

Gotta love the Stebel, I use mine at least 2-3 times a week, almost got nailed last night from some dizzy whore who, whilst looking directly at me, still moved into my lane, forcing me to break hard to avoid her hitting me, so it doesn't always help, but it sure draws the attnetion of would-be-witnesses.
Enjoy the horn!!!!!

I've got the standard wimpy Honda horn, with two Fiamm 'snails' to keep it company. I was on my way to Repco to see if I could get some decent horns, when a lady at an interrsection did the old "Look to see what's coming then go anyway" trick. So instead of just window-shopping, I bought some.
They're loudish, but not loutish like the last horns I fitted. They were on my VFR750, and were two quite ordinary Hella disc horns (like the ordinary bike horn, but slightly larger). However, once they were wired to the battery via a relay, they transformed the warning afforded by pressing the horn button from a feeble "Peep!" to a "OWWW!! Don't do that again, Dad! It hurts!!!" style wake-up call.
The Fiamms are OK, but they could be a little bit deeper in tone - they don't have quite the authority I'd like. Pity you can't test horns before buying.

Heheh I have about 2 of the magnums and 1 of the Nautilus - all do the job with aplomb. The Magnum is so loud, it reminds those erroneous in their ways that a truck is oncoming! I've seen the eyes of dozy cagers suddenly turn into saucer plates when they hear the Magnum ... now that I have the relay in, my Nautilus is ready for action. I can tootle melodiously to ensure that upright riding status is maintained!
The Nautilus is akin to a locomotive bearing down when one is stupid enough to try and beat the train barrier arms ... and the loco driver sounds the horn ...
For the record, the reaction of a dozy cager to a Nautilus is even more astounding ...

Yea the nautilus is damn good. I've often used it only to have the perpetrator look at me in shock, but then keep looking around for a train, thinking that my bike obviously couldn't have made that ear drum exploding noise. Another blast of the horn usually sorts them out:devil2:

I was supposed to be getting one from Warlock's "Stebel Round 8"...but heard nothing for ages so picked this one up. Warlock seems to have been abducted by aliens from inner space...

We are the New Zealand Distributor for Stebel.
We offer special discounts to KiwiBiker members. PM me for pricing.
Without giving to much away we sell the Stebel Nautilus classic to KiwiBiker members for under $100 complete with warranty.
We recommend the generation 2 units which are now available and specifically designed for motorbike use. (They offer better water tightness than the classic and are available in Chrome and full black).
Oh and we carry good stocks and offer overnight courier service or you can just come and pick one up if you are in Auckland.
