1st & 2nd for Yamaha in the Moto GP in Japan. Even thou Im not a Yamaha fan I must admit it was good to see Lorenzo win at Japan with Rossi coming in 2nd and Pedrosa finishing 3rd.
If Yamaha keeps going the way they did in todays GP I think they will be the team who finishes on top.
After 2 rounds Lorenzo is on 41 points with Rossi on 40 and Stoner on 38.
Next round is at Spain on May 3rd and is on TV on Sky Sport 1 at 9.00pm next Sunday night.

Does Rossi put his inside leg out to try and intimidate an inside pass when coming into corners? I can't work out why he does it and have never heard the commentators talk about apart from a passing comment of "and there he goes putting his leg out again"
Any ideas?

Someone always comes and screws it up here, can't expect the mods to be policing it 24/7 though. Grrr...

If you don't want to know the results, don't read the thread.
Any thread posted after any event can hardly be a "spoiler". It is not for Mods to determine a reasonable space of time for those who want to watch delayed coverage of these events to get around to doing that.
It is better that threads have an accurate title so that those who don't want to know the results can have the option of not reading any further.

awesome,i reckon it gonna be a cracker of a season, lorenzo and Pedrosa are obviusly gonna be up there at times ,and Dovi will improve, not to mention Stoner and rossi!.Stoner and Dovi aslo use the "loose inside leg" technique.I have an idea the pedrosa does it too sometimes but for some reason cant actually recall seeing him do it

I just saw Edward's do it as well while watching the replay. He had no one behind him so maybe it isn't a move to intimidate.
Any ideas why they put their inside leg out going into a corner?

I wonder how they get away with it as there was a couple of times when they did it that they had a bike on the outside of them only inches away and I would find it a distraction.
Strange how they have only started doing this year and I wonder how long they will get away with it before something happens because of it being done.
Never saw any of the 125 or 250 riders doing it.

Someone told me the inside leg off the peg is to assist in the process of weighting the outside peg in the corner.

What was all that about, anyway? Trying to stretch their legs to stop them cramping in the race or somethin?

balance and corner speed , point and shoot has gone Motegi is a point and shoot circuit but with dangling leg u can adjust your balance a bit So brake late, try and keep it upright though corner

I noticed one of the commentators mention "help ya turning it in" or something like that. I wasn't sure if he was joking at the time or what. I did notice that rossi and a few others actually shimmed their feet on the ground as well...

'Bridgestone has promised to carry out a full investigation to find out why Dani Pedrosa's front tyre was in such a poor condition at the end of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Pedrosa returned to the pit lane following the race at Motegi showing visible chunks out of his front tyre, prompting Bridgestone to apologise for the isolated case.'
Look at the tire tho

nah thats just a semi slick pretending to be a slick :)
The leg thing... It's been done as late as last year, I recall Rossi stoner and even a few of the boys in the smaller classes hanging the leg out, so it's hardly a new thing.
I thought maybe it was borne of the motard boys. getting some weight out there helping the bike get settled.
I have a gripe or two about the commentary, who are the two retards yakking away? the least they could do is learn how to pronounce the riders names correctly. (british eurosport)
Last year i watched the racing live off the motogp website and the dudes that were hosting that were really good. they actually sounded like they got amoungst the riders and had interesting things to say about them.
the twats on eurosport just gossip about rubbish and try to imagine rivilrys that don't exist.
ps Go Melandri! (not a fan by any stretch of the imagination, just like to see a beaten man crawl to his feet and kick ass) and for him to overtake stoner was gold. if only he could have made it stick :D
