    Hi again all,

Thanks for the wonderful work you guys did last week - I have been receiving feedback that people have received their stuff and are really happy with it!

We have two possible dates for our next Sewing Circle gathering:
    1) Tuesday 10 November, my place (Avondale) or
    2) Wednesday 11 November, Danish House, Penrose.

There will be another BRONZ meeting on Wednesday which I will be attending, so if you choose Wednesday the setup will be the same as last time. If you choose Tuesday we can have it at my little place or another venue of your choice.

The priorities this time will be to fill whatever mail orders have come in since the last mail-out (only a couple at this stage) and to iron heaps of transfers onto vests in preparation for selling them prior to the Auckland Rolling Protest Ride on Sat 14th.

It would be great to make a massive stockpile for sale on the Big Bikoi, leaving Auckland on Mon 16th (I can be at the starting point but won't be on the ride). Also there is demand from people further down the country who are likely to buy stuff each time the group stops.

Of course if there's enough interest we could have a woking bee on both nights?!

By the way, I think this time we should order in pizza or send someone out for fish & chips or suchlike. It is always a long night and a bit of toast when you get home just doesn't do it!

I'd be happy to come Wednesday 11th; I have a prizegiving to play for on Tuesday night which I can't get out of (plus it's my son's Year 13 one, so I'd be a bit of a naughty mum if I couldn't attend that one!)
Hope to see you on the 11th. Time?
    Cheers!

Yay PB! I believe the BRONZ meeting is at 7:30 so we can set up the Sewing Circle at around about the same time, in the main hall.

I'll see it I can make it this week - I need to get the transfers ordered/printed - how many do you think we need this run (Going to see if I can get some bulk discount this time round) - what's the order book look like - and how many vests have we managed to get (been in a few shops - only found a SINGLE vest in one of them!

I'm thinking a few late nights over a hot printer for me!

Hmmm... we will need as many transfers as we can find vests! We only have a couple of vests ordered, but I'm sure we will sell as many as we can produce if we take them to rides.

Maybe 50 transfers? We will all need to head out looking for more vests though (yellow, not orange if at all possible).

The 110,000 bikers transfer was almost as poipular as the target transfer, so maybe
    30 target transfers
    20 110,000 bikers transfers

Looks like it's going to be Wednesday, folks! Means we can use the Danish House hall again, and gives Phantasm a chance to source more transfers.

Speaking of which, has he put in a claim for reimbursement yet? Does he need help printing transfers? I can't do that, printing I mean, my printer is about as dead as they get along with having no cyan or something

Do we have a number for him?

I have not talked to Mark about this Wednesday yet, big weekend just gone for us (emotionally as well as travel and sleep deprivation) and a big ride out for us to still continue organising for Saturday. Mark had a cyst cut out of his knee Saturday morning before we flew to Wellington, had the packing taken out today, they replaced it I get to take it out day after tomorrow, or maybe even tomorrow as he is going to go back to work in the morning. I feel a bit like a let everyone down sort of gal, but honestly, I cant see us down on Wednesday night. I will talk to my man, he may tell me to HTFU.

Nawww Mom you're not letting anyone down! You and your bloke have a bit of a rest on Wednesday and we'll catch up with you at the big ride at the weekend! [Cyst on the knee?! Ouch! ]

As for Phantasm, he knows to keep his receipts and he will be reimbursed. Same goes for everyone else remember! This isn't a contest to see who can be the biggest martyr! We want you all coming out the other end of this happy and healthy and glad you were a part of the Big Protest of '09!

I have had a thought. Always dangerous

Ironing those transfers on is a real pain in the bum, be good to get some done, but the rest could just be made up as kits in those plastic bags, vest, transfers, instructions and a template to follow. One package, one price, easy as to sell on Saturday. Just a thought. Klingon, are you coming on the ride Saturday? Are you ok to bring the kits in that bottomless pit of a pack of yours?

It certainly is much easier if people do their own ironing, but I also think people want the instant gratification of being able to put on the vest and wear it on the spot. Particularly when we are selling them at the beginning of a ride and the main purpose is awareness-raising.

I think we should put the prices up to reflect the labour involved and to make it worth our while as a fund-raiser. Maybe $10 extra for ironiong or something?

Yes I'm happy to bring all I can in my bottomless pack on Saturday. I will be at the beginning of the ride and at the end, but have other committments in the middle (working from 11am to approx mid-day).

I am peeling off the ride when we swing back into the city from the Nor Western kilngon. Perhaps you can come with me and drop off your bag of goodies at the Museum so I can get set up in anticipation of the rides arrival back there?

Oooh good idea Mom. Do you think I will have time to get back to Avondale for 11am? If so, I think that's a great idea and will take the pressure off me a bit.
