Handy Points for Marshal's Please Stay Alert There will be a lot of activity happening around you, but you need to remain alert and focuses with your role Be Assertive When you are directing either bikes or individuals you need to be very firm and clear with your instructions. Be Firm but Courteous and smile Managing an Aggressor Never do this alone One person approach the individual (stay at least an arms length away) Inform the individual who you are and what you are doing (your role) Listen to what they have to say Ask that they behave as we are all in the same boat If they refuse back away, ask again, then get assistance If the situation escalates walk away and call the Police on the KB radio or (027 273 1608) Monitor from a distance Directing Pedestrians On the traffic crossings points stop all pedestrians Police will be on Points Duty and will ignore the lights Work with the Police The Constables will let you know when to release the walkers They will also tell you when to stop pedestrians The fine for ignoring (J walking) will be $75 (issued by the Constables Keep yourself safe and be aware of traffic Look After Yourself Drink lots of fluids Watch for vehicles around you Listen to the Police (if required) If you need help Help is a yell away Thank you for attending today, your effort means much too many.
