I been busy getting the Panini prepared for the run. Box's of parts have been awaiting fitment.
Firstly new mufflers- a bit quieter than the race exhaust that blew the earplugs out:

Next was to replace the primitive electronic ignition with a Dyna S unit.
This is Guzzi standard 1980 elecie ign:

Stone age stuff, and not the best. Unfortunatly I cant adapt the Dyna to fit as the rotor is way different and I can't make up a sleeve with internal and external slotting to adapt it, so back to the drawing board----- or points

And then I noticed that my mint front tyre has perishing in the centre tread. That is what you get when you buy bikes that have been sitting around for years. Majic moment was finding out I can easily and safely carry a wheel on the ute:

Now off to Cycletreads for a new front and a coffee with the croc

Should be able to scrub it in by Sunday. Done an oil change and hopefully fixed the sump leak. Have to retune the ignition, and re-set the carbs to match the new exhaust and then borrow a plate from something and I'm good to go.

How is everyone else's prep going?

    I love classic bikes

BTW- the new front is $89 all up. These wee bikes are cheap cheap cheap
