Because if they are not, how come they made this? It's like they were thinking "Those BFTP people like to ride, how about we give them a turn-key everyday bike?" Totally unexpected, Honda have come up with a 2010 BFTP lust machine, and it's pretty cheap too. So much can go wrong styling a retro classic, and often does... W650 anyone? But this puppy in my opinion hits the spot classic clean lines, no clutter, no nonsense engine, and reasonable suspension and brakes. Nice view from behind the 'bars too, clean and tidy. [IMG][/IMG] And it's a single seater, which is so un-Honda Wonder if they do a 550? That would be neat.. I seem to remember building a 750/4 that looked a bit like this back in the day but nowhere near as nice, the 'zorst is neat too, would have to cut and gut it, to cure that nasty Euro3 pox
Dodyiti But this puppy in my opinion hits the spot classic clean lines, no clutter, no nonsense engine, and reasonable suspension and brakes. Nice view from behind the 'bars too, clean and tidy. Pretty much sums it up. Wonder if its got any grunt
Maaate! 1100 Honda not enough? It would be a beast too much of a beast for me though, bring on the 550 cheap rego model
wonder how long before Suzuki do something?
4cyl bikes have never appealed to me,but this one sure does.Higher wider bars, some adventure tyres and it would suit me perfectly.
Does it have double lipped seals and self inflating tyres?
suzuki has done a retro bike...almost as ugly as the original ones...
it is a GSX1400Z
i think your right in a way dodgyiti...like all good sales people they (honda/Japs)have seen the number of bikes and web sites out there dedictaed to rebuilding older bikes into bobbers or sim.....so where there is a market....there will be people who want one but don't want to do it themselves.....a bit like the production line choppers they are getting into as well...thanks to OCC etc...
I'd prefer one of these Ya can't buy these.
I like the headlight fairing, me thinks it would look good on a few older bikes too. Bet it is friggin moonbeams in the Honda catalogue Those scoots look a little cafe for you croc, are you coming around to clipons and rear sets... at your age? cmoore it is a GSX1400Z You mean this thing? yeah, ummm nice radiator, what car is that off? An Alto?
Now I have posted a pic of that thing and had a decent look at it, it's the 2010 model by the way. I just can't beleive how badly styled it is. Look at the front of the tank edge and the angle of the forks, so wrong, and as for the side covers and tail section- whats going on there? they don't even blend or look like they should be on the same bike. As for that plastic cover under the tank by the seat, it neither follows the tank or the seat or the side cover, it's just there! How tight can your buget be that you can't afford to fly an Italian (or a pom if your really broke) over for 2 lousy weeks to design a naked bike for goodness sake? I read a really good book on design, in particular motorcycle design, was talking to the croc about it the other day actually, this breaks all the rules for sure. And the end result is astoundingly perplexing, mostly WTF?
But the plug leads match the colour of the tank, that must of taken a bit of serious design work.I've got to find some black leads to match my tank.....wonder if they still make them in black?
Pete Kelly can get the NGK supressed ones in beige which is the new black I bought a reel of copper with black coating plug leads and make my own ends, unsupressed they fuck up every boy racer's stereo boom box at the lights
way to go dodgy with the plug leads ;-) A bloke was running unsupressed leads at the hill climb in the weekend on a Kwaka 350 Avenger and the timing gear wouldnt work for him
