Well i would like to learn a bit about mechanical stuff, and i want to do some coustimising in terms of mechanicals. So what sort of bike do ya think? I dont have massive amounts of spare cash around, needs to be simple to work on etc. So post away
If you just want to learn as you go, and you do not expect a road bike, and if your mechanical knowledge is still in it's infancy, then my suggestion is to get a Suzuki TF/TS 100 - 185. They are very easy to work on, two stroke (no valve, cam gear or chain, and one cylinder with a simple carbi). You can pick up a "Mudbug" from $100 that actually runs. And once you have her together you be surprised how much go the little girls have. Perfect for the bush and the beach. I have done a few, and there are others on here in middle of doing some of them up. There is no reason to stay original, and you can mix and match bits as you want. Most wreckers have all the bits you want. And then if you can let her go (tends to get harder then you first imagine) you get $350 - $750 for a good working one. Here a couple I tidyed up: 100cc 125cc
Cool, I will be seeing how my space situation is over the next few months (i may be buying a house, eek) so will keep an eye out and have a play
