I have used it to buy some stuff from a guy on the R65 forum from the US. No problem. My (meagre!) understanding of it, is that it's a reputable way to get/receive payment from overseas.

James, you need to be set up with Paypal to have transactions approved by them. Once approved, you will be charged a percentage of each transaction, in fees. I believe the figure is 4%.

Paypal is a good safeguard for the seller and vendor alike. They are very severe on vendors who don't abide by some strict guidelines though.

There's a lot of risk for both parties when dealing internationally. I successfully bought my GS1150 from the states after spending a full month swapping emails and pics with the vendor, before finally taking the risk. I paid by telegraph transfer to the vendor's account.

Don't rush into this deal. You don't want to end up with no bike and a dud cheque.

    well team.

seems the internet really isnt safe.

The person who was to buy my bike requested that we use paypal. (a trusted and widely used payment option and I was assured it was safe by my bank who I just rung) anywho. I then recieved 2 very official emails from paypal saying that $5,550 had been credited to my account and that it was being held by paypal until the transaction was complete. (fine i thought)

Then the email went on to explain that I had to pay the shipping company in china $1,050 to ship the bike there (caution #1)
Then I noticed the official email had a slight difference in email address from the first email i recieved from paypal. (caution #2)
Then to top it off I read the emails more closely and found multiple spelling errors (caution #3)

morale of the story... Be damned careful!

and if its to good to be true... it is

James, go and talk nicely to Uncle Wickle. He might just see you right on a decent GS. Hell , he's cornered the market in HB.

No trades on GS's unless you what to give me a GS for a GSX750. I what more two valves, as for calling my bikes ugly well they made them uglier after my ones!
