Anyone going to the concert tonight?

I've seen AC DC last time 20 yrs ago and they were not that young at that time either so i guess it's well overdue to see another show.

The song list looks spectacular, at least for us older folks, lol, with more than half the songs pre '81.
And having had the last 30 yrs to perfect their act it should be one hell of a night

I saw AC/DC twice, once in Sydney and once at the Monsters of Rock. They headlined at MOR one year I was there, far better show than Metallica or the other bands there....apart from Iron Maiden.
I was amused to see in the Herald Business Section summit like:

In their day AC/DC were seen as un original and repeditive.....now they would be viewed as sticking to core values and consistantly reliable.

I'm one of those fans who has never bought an album...even Back in Black when it came out.....I was a Zep fan and AC/DC were seen as a comic book band like the Ramones......who I also saw once and even bought their records.
I find it odd that a 30 year old band can so so well....I can't imagine in 1980 going to see Bill Haley and the Comets.

Funny. I'd rather see Bill Haley and the Comets.

Saw ACDC live in a big Adelaide nightclub back in about 1980. Didn't like them back then but they have grown on me a bit over the last 30 yrs though still can't understand why they were so popular. Never been a big fan of raw noise.

I went....even jammed in with the children near the frontish......average atmosphere....angus was excellent........i would have preferred to have been seated somewhere...but that is just my age....and my anger management classes didn't work......there are a number of hungover young men waking up this morning wondering why they have bruises.....if your out there...it is because you tried to walk over or into my missus with so much as an excuse me....so i either elbowed you in the side of the head or kicked you from behind as you went past...just to help you get past since you were in so much of a hurry......arseholes..... ...best part was probably the number of young woman dressed in school girl outfits......

I went to AC/DC last time they were in Wellington, this was at the height of my AC/DC fandom. Honestly they weren't that good then and I can't imagine that have got any better.
cmoore I am 100% with you about people pushing and what not. I love rugby but I will not go to a game unless I can get good seats, for exactly the same reason....

yeah volty, that's the MOR i went to as well, when acdc headlined it.

i'm actually not a big acdc fan but admire them for their 35 year long "as on day one" enthusiasm for raw hard rock riffs. theat's where their greatness is i think. if someone asks you what hard rock is all about you can safely say "that's acdc", both today and 35 yrs ago, both in music style and stage performance. and attitude. i don't think there is a better example of a hard rock band today as no other band survived so unchanged for so long.
