you'd appreciate it's been a bit heated here at times lately and having had the time to reflect on it i find that i must have failed in my attempts at having everybody's voice being heard as equal to all others. funnily enough, this was a core vision for me of what the group could become. croc has made it clear i think that he wasn't listened to enough or not appreciated enough and that he felt like "forgotten little people" but there may be others who might feel the same way but are not as expressive or as loud. anyhow, i regret arriving at this position, as it rubs off of those that may not be personally involved at all and certainly looks bad to those who don't even know others in person but participate only by reading the forum. and it looks bad for prospective members. and it also creates a climate of splitting into "camps" while we try to figure out "who's right and who's wrong". on a personal level, i find that it's a bit much for me to be perceived (if only by some members) as someone who gives a final word on things and wants to run/decide things by myself and is responsible for making people feel good or bad about their contribution - and being the administrator of these pages doesn't help with that perception. so, i am keen to hand the admin over to somebody else. please put your thoughts here so they are available to everyone rather than sending me a pm. cheers everyone psy
Myself, I dont mind who runs the thing as long as its a good semi 'close knit' group that looks after us all and never degenerates into the shit slanging tosserfest that KB main forums get to a lot of the time. I think so far we have managed to avoid attracting folk like mentioned above. The potential here especially after our first gathering is awesome, it can only grow, but it has to stay laid back and cruisy, which I see no reason why it can't be. It sure has rekindled my passion for older bikes. Just thoughts from a relatively noobish bloke.
Psy, maybe take admin as vetting new members as caseye did. Step back from trying to harness the awesome power of BFTP and the rest will take care of it's self? It's only as big a job as you make it. I would offer but your now looking at the new moderator for the Guzzi Tech forum
I would offer but your now looking at the new moderator for the Guzzi Tech forum Report now that would be a job and a half.... unlike the BMW one...
Ivor, if you're serious about wanting to relinquish Admin and if nobody else sticks up their hand, I'd consider it.
BMW Tech; "What type of cleaner is good for removing bug splatter from my windshield?" Guzzi Tech; "Something fell off, not sure what but it didn't 'sound' important" Sorry, thread hi-jack, he started it
