Well, the shiny bits are away getting resprayed on my recently acquired CB900 Boldy. I've had it apart and its pretty good actually, cleaned it all up, should be a good un.

Crazy idea came to when browsing TM parts.
Someone has a complete engine unit off a late model CB900, the fuel injected water model late 00s.
I was thinking of maybe buying it and transplanting it. I love the old CB9, my 4th one now, so they're me.
But would'nt it be cool, modern donk, old style look.
I imagine it would be a bit of work but..........

    Oh, and on another tangent.
Had a ride on a mint Norton Commando 850 yesterday, electric start model, 75, a minter.
Holy fuck, what a nice piece of kit.
Says I can have it for 12k.
    When he's ready to sell.
But he is a hoarder type of guy.........

stop it.....I've got a Commando " I want" problem and your not helping.....
....Do they have that Ducati like mid range stomp I have heard about....?

I did see a late model thruxton motor on TM and pondered the idea of fitting it into a early 50's Triumph......

Jeez , that would be exciting a Bol'd'or/FireBlade hybred.

Might want to upgrade the brakes Tony

Go and have a measure up of Brents 92 model Blade, see if it will fit and room for radiotor

I guess if you have been following my custom bikes Dooly, you would know that I am an advocate of adding a bit of modern to the old school bikes. I think your bike is an appreciating asset so maybe have in the back of your mind the ability to return to stock some day. My buzz is having a fully old school looking bike that gets up and goes

    And stops...

Volti, you're cruel. He can't guarantee they will finish. Mind you, there's no time line to the actual finish!

I think it would be sick!
Seen a few old Holdens with new engines in them, sleepers for sure.

The only issue (ok not the only one, but a big one) I can see is that 80's frames and running gear struggled to keep up with the engine output. So putting extra strain on it may be exciting.
Another option I have seen is to go the other way modern running gear, braced frame, modern shocks and brakes and the old lump, that way you could really get the most out of it..........
