This thread is for the Southern North Island folk to discuss ride dates ect. The replies I have had indicate that a Sunday suits most people best.
Feel free to kick in with suggestions and abuse.

Does this count an an official ride? I took a pootle yesterday through Eketahuna to Pongaroa via Pleckville. Such exotic names to be sure. Great roads with the odd clenching moment when hitting loose stone chip on corners. There has been a lot of tar melt over summer and some corners have a lot of marbles.

From there to Dannevirke via some magnificent roads. In all; a good 200 odd km with practically no traffic on nice bendy roads. I only saw one other bike all day.

Sounds a good route Dadpole. Have you fitted up those new front calipers yet? Hard to tell from here!

Nope. Still on the period ones. The calipers can wait until I get serious about some work on the lump and get all the bits in one lot from offshore.
I was tempted to go out to Poronghau then to Waipuk, but not enough time.

Weekends suck for me. Its the busiest part of my week, rehersals, classes, gigs, kids...I can sneak away very early in the morning as long as im back by 9ish. Maybe I can do part rides with y'all. If tou can drag your tired butts outta bed and meet me somewhere and be ready to go by 6a.m.

6 AM? Does such a time exist?
How are you for midweek rides, or does earning a crust get in the way?

You uneducated heathen Dodgyiti. That is a sculpture honouring one of the team of discovers of the twin helix structure of DNA who happened to be born in the Pongaroa area. I thought every good Kiwi knew that. (We bad Kiwis have to read the plaque to know that)

BUT -As a good Kiwi, I do know that most of their 'discovery' was based work done by an English woman who didn't get a mention.

Ratti. I am in the same boat. Funny how the no-work-today thing happens on sunny days.

RDJase - We are in training for a Bay invasion. It would be good if you lot can meet up sometime. Give us a few pointers like. (and help organise a fleet of sidecars for Rattis offspring).
