Anyone interested?? http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...=2010-3-28&c=0
yeah im keen for a nosey Murray
Could be, Auckland is chronic for poorly attended events like this though. I remember the last Auckland Motorcycle show, had about 35 bikes and they were corralling anyone who turned up on a bike to get it in the main shed. It was crap but not the organisers fault, just general Auckland apathy. This could be different. Proceeds go to riding for the disabled, which is good We are seeking clubs and collectors who would like to show their treasured bikers in an exhibit. We have treasured bikers- Max immediately came to mind, he should be in an exibit, maybe Ixion and Motu as well. Does it matter if they are wearing Treasures, or will any brand do? Might need a disclaimer sign for the general public- Don't feed the Bikers, do not attempt to converse with the bikers. BREACHING THIS RULE MAY END UP WITH A STORY. Volty could have a little booth- Guess your gas milage
sounds a good reason to get together...psyguy?........the more the merrier......and as for us Aucklanders be apathetic....rubbish.....we just have varied interesting lives...and with so much to choose from we have don't allways attend every event en mass.........i am never sure why we are told we should??...it is like..there is an event on...it is in Auckland......you must attend or else....becuase Nelson does....I love Auckland, I love living here, I love the variety, I love the fact I can do what i like without anyonme telling me i should do someting else...but then again...I loved London...and I loved New York.....maybe i Just love big city's............
You have to PAY? I thought it was a charity event? But the public are free.....so I'll park outside and walk in for free.
Bikes is $10, rider free. That's not logical. I'll leave the bike outside beside Motus. Why am I going to pay so they can use my bike as an exhibit. though, if you pay your $10, do you get to exhibit your bike? *ANY* bike ? They're a toffee nosed lot in Devonport. I can find a bike that will make them apopoletic in their exhibition. That might be fun.
you'd think if it's a fundraiser bike an rider would be free, then gold coin donation for all!
come on guys...they want bikes to show...hence the $10....ride two up and it is the same......they are no doubt trying to encourage people with older bikes..BFTP .....to turn up and show off....they do it a lot in England and it is very succesfull.........
Gee do I have to bring a nice bike? That means robbing the gearshift off Seedy's old bike to fix the crash damage on the Mk1, nothing is ever easy. wickle's right, the $10 a bike is weird. If, and I say if, I go to the trouble of putting a plate and some parts on a bike and washing it ... I have to pay for the privilage? Not right, the general public pay to look at the bikes, we bring the bikes. It's been that way since Motu rode a Guzzi
is there not a prize for best bike??...hence reason for paying to enter....
hey im happy to throw 10 bucks at an event run by and for bikers for the benefit of the riding for the disabled..............blues... BBQ... and Mussell fritters are just a bonus............whats with all the negative vibes you tight pricks...........your all loaded judging by the # of bikes you guys own arent ya????..........see ya there cmoore
spot on bikemad....$10 is less then i spend on coffe each day.....
No offence Bikemad, it's my stick in the mud attitude.I will pay but it goes against a long tradition, you have a classic bike- turn up to a show and you bike is worth being in it- you get in free and the general public pays for the privilage of picking the shit out of your bike and because you got in for free you have to ignore it. spendmoore ....$10 is less then i spend on coffe each day..... Blimey cmoore, when's this job coming up for me, I already know how to work the company phones??
no offence taken or intended Dodgy...............just gettin the hang of this winding people up thing.................
hah!!....all good fun guys...but seriously.....no prizes??
