Hi guys, thought its worth its own thread for all this. The HBers had sorted all the stuff out for our rally Anzac weekend today. Its officially Friday 23rd April to Sunday or Monday 26th. Its up to anyone who wants to stay over Sunday night if they wish. Its based at Stoney Creek Ranch in Tait Rd Maraekakaho, 25kms SW of Hastings, or about 30kms from Napier. Probably best for you guys to Google and do the map thingy than me try and explain how to get here. But its only about half a km up Tait Road which is off SHW50. Its a Christian camp owned by a board of trustees and managed by a good bloke who is easy going. There are cabins with bunks and showers and toilets, plus kitchen facilities for cooking and eating in a hall. Basically its like a motorcamp. I think we will be the only lot in for the weekend. Its all organised, turn up, pick your cabin and room mates etc, nothing has been allocated. Its fairly laid back. One rule from the camp and please respect it, NO ALCOHOL. I'm not sure whether it means on site or not drinking it in open, but best keep hidden. But anyway, that can be overcome. The basic agenda is as follows, and of course can be altered, added, whatever as no point being regimented, we're a cruisy lot eh. - Turn up Friday. Wickle & I and maybe others will be there to show you the way if needed, and I'll give our numbers below if needed. Friday night we thought we'd wander down the road, about 2kms to the local bar/grill for drinks & a munch. Its a rural place so no worries with bacon and checkpoints etc. It's licence is only to 10pm, so if anyone wants we can wander back to my place for tea & scones afterwards. We'll have some vehicles to carry folk if needed. - Saturday, brekky at the camp, or go into town for a latte or whatever if you wish, but there will be a decent ride on our fine roads here, and a lunch stop, maybe culminating at the Classic Club clubrooms which is on the way home, and also the day of their monthly ride. A few of us are members of the CC so no probs with anything there. Wickle will finalise all the ride stuff and it may be altered on the day according to what everyone wants to do. After that we'll have a BBQ & pissup at my place which is 163 Tait Rd, just up a bit from the camp. Its the end of the road, no noise issues, no homo camp commandant like last time! We can cart you back to the camp afterwards if you wish. - Sunday, another ride if wanted, lunch somewhere, prob a not too serious if some want to head home. Dinner either another BBQ at mine or down the bar, whatever anyone wants to do. Those that want to can stay over Sunday night at the camp. So thats the basic agenda. Anything can change, we're all flexi. We will have a van & trailer following the rides to pick up debris Please can we have all those attending or those who think they know people that have'nt reg, please reg, so we can get a rough idea of numbers. - What you need to bring and costs etc........ $20 a night for the cabin each, plus a $15 one off fee for food, and expenses etc, so if you stay 2 nights, $55. We will provide the food for the BBQs, save you all bringing stuff. There was talk of a van run into town Friday arvo/night to stock up on alcohol if you guys want to do that, no probs. - Bring bedding, sleeping bag, pillows etc. - Brekky stuff if you want, but we could pick up that in town when we go in for the alcohol if anyone wants. We can probably round up quite a few chilly bins and big buckets & ice for the piss on Saturday so no real need for you to bring those if you want. Contact numbers if needed. Dadpole, I always go to an Anzac day ceremony....hadn't thought of that. Is there one out in the sticks where you are Dooly? Alternatively we could have our own one at the camp.....

Anyone got leaving times for Friday, Auckland, Hamilton, Waikato? Maybe if folks give approx leaving times from their area we can meet up for some of the trip to the HB. I am flexible but was considering 10.30 am onwards leaving Westieland which would put me in Hamilton around midday-ish then arrive in the HB late afternoon/early evening. Not even sure which bike yet, all common sence points to the BMW that has luggage but you get that I can tune it out, the common sense that is.
The monument down the road by the bar is for the local war dead. Not sure if anything goes on there, possibly may get something in the mail box closer to the time J.
it looks like Im gonna be vannin over to the bay. Any Wellieans want me to take stuff for them? or them if they are bikeless? Not sure which way Im going, but if you live along the route I oculd swing by and pick up you or your gear too

Inherited 27 years of no maintainance more than anything. ongoing issues with starter system. and th carbs are leaking. Its ok, pretty much got it sorted, just is expensive to fix. you never know, we just might make it yet, but at least I can van it if all else fails. I did get offered a suzuki to ride tonight. But I would feel so, so...soiled if I did!

ick. i just couldnt do the zook thing. wrong wrong wrong Its the wrong era anyway, cant recall what it is, but its a go fast and Id end up as mince, providing I could even fit onto the thing. The guy who owns it barely comes up to my ear. I have already contact Yorky but am a bit snowed under with shite around my hubbys estate this week, so cant really do anything about it. As you say tho, I have a selection of parts available. If it is the starter clutch, I have only the one spare, already replaced the stupid thing with the unit off one of the donor bikes. Problem is that the shaft gets really badly worn worn and the widget wont grip onto it. given the age of the other donor bike it's likely to be in similar condition to the one I already replaced. you know how it is guys.. time to get down n dirty with the zed. Grit my teeth and learn how to fix it when things go wrong. Bugger hubby dying on me, his job was going to be keeping me on the road. Have tools, shed and two workshop manuals, How hard can it be?
Not too hard Ratti, manuals are a good start. If you get stuck the BFTP crew can always assist- even if you post a picture and explain the problem I'm sure the knowledge base is here. At least you can have a go.
