Anyone got any late 60's 500 cc Triumph parts kicking around the shed???
not worried about cycle parts, though some valanced alloy rims would be nice...and a set of Hagon shocks....twin 28 mm concentics.....
also a pre unit non external oil 8 stud cylinder less than 40 thou....and some pre 63 Bonnieville carbs with remote float bowl....
Must be loads of it in sheds in the HB area???

Go and see Graham Cole - I think he has snapped up all the 350 and 500 unit twin parts in the country. It's a shame - they were the bike no one wanted....the girls Triumph, and parts could be found anywhere. Now people seem to think they are somehow worth money. It was great back in the '70's when I was using them in my Rickman and Cheney - I built engines just out of parts....most of them maybe stolen (how else do you find nearly a complete engine, and no left case?)

It didn't help the impression when I had 500 engines in 350 cases...but I had a reason.I converted the left hand cases to late model breathers, taking out the left crank seal, drilling drain holes and then fitting a breather to the top of the chaincase.I kept my T100C cases unmolested.

Isn't there a roller bearing replacement for that Antiques Roadshow of a setup?
Some list Volty, I don't envy that. Since it's a bitza, why not go a bit more modern on the carbs? Buy a bank of 4 off a 1000cc then you got spares, Mikuni perhaps? or Dubbie-ize her with a twin downdraft Dellorto... oh yeah

    bitsa's....the T110 is a matching everything 59'...and the Daytona is a matching numbers 68'

Mikunis....nothing wrong with Amals...and you can buy them new.....( not putting Jap parts on my British bikes...harumph)
antiques roadshow......chortle.....my Duke has bushed swingarm and the toaster has bearings....I think Triumph won Daytona with a bush...mind you they were racing Harley 750 sidevalve tractors....

The ball timing bearing is the way to go,but they got some HP out of the old bush engine.I bought 2 brand new monoblocks for my 500 Triumph.I got them from Greenlane Speedshop, they were off a Speedwell Amal conversion for a Ford or something.I got them for a ridiculously low price,as off course no car freak wanted anything to do with motorcycle carbs....like a Weber was just so much better.Always pays to snoop around unlikely places.
