Does anyone out there have a clutch cover for a 1980 Yam XS650 gathering dust in the shed or suggest anywhere to try before I start trawling about overseas ? Am just doing a customers bike and clutch as trepanned a neat hole in case, nearly all the way through This plus numerous other cracks, gouges (inside AND outside) will probably make it an axpensive fix so looking at replacement as 2nd option.
Try giving surfer a call he has an engine that was a little sick may be able to help you out. He is here in BFTP.
I have a box of parts in the shed...will have a look....and you can try andrew from motorcycle graveyard...he has heaps of parts...0211068693.....in auckland...
There is a bike wrecker over rotorua/ or ngongataha way that has lots of cool parts. Boyles might be able to help too, Mark has an impressive stack of bits lurking in various parts of the building

I will ask Richard/XS1 on here, he had a few engine bits , dont know if the early covers are the same The XS2 chopper i had years ago used to have problems with the clutch hub nut coming loose and the clutch trying to com out and meet my foot, still had no problem with drive , just had no lever pressure as tit would just push the whole hub off the shaft Must find some pics of it, and a 17year old me

XS1 are different,but nearly everything on an XS1 is different than later models.
