in my vege patch? or have I missed it -again. Im in Hutt Valley. Garden is protected from southerlies, gets full sun all day...and has a free ranging rabbit that gets really grumpy if I lock him up... Im thinking maybe broadbeans? with wee fences around each plant to keep the bunny off. He really needs to be rehomed . any takers?
Youll have to lock up your vege patch then lol if mr wabbit likes to roam free have a hunt for this book (its my bible) "Bill Wards edible garden" it tells when to plant, what plants survive what temps and even companion planting to keep bugs off and garden healthy, the book is pretty cheap usually so hope that helps the book is pretty cheap usually so shold help with planting in your chill Ride safe
Stew Grow a few herbs to flavour the stew Winter veges are the best. Not so many bugs to worry about, get rid the rabbit Silverbeet (watch the slugs and snails) is my fav Wilt it and serve with malt vinegar splashed over it
I keep telling tim that if he insists on eating my sage he'll end up as pre-seasoned casserole. Planted some more brassicas and some celery. Ive already got a reasonable rotation of brassicas in, and some celeriac. Kids wont eat silverbeet so I dont bother to grow it except for the chooks.
Thanks for the reminder Mom, I tore out 4 of the munched cauliflower today (left two in for bug bait lol) and composted the garden ready for more silverbeet, the two silverbeet I have are growing like weeds so I can eat from them once every few days, but I love it so much I want more, forgot to put the coffee grinds in to keep the slugs and snails away... wouldnt want to loose the two excisting silverbeet. once I saw your post I ran out and did it lol Ride safe all
