The Official Tyre Supplier to MotoGP will provide the premier class riders with asymmetric rear slick tyres for the first time this season at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.
Casey Stoner, currently lying eighth in the championship standings, was positive about his chances of clawing back some points from his main rivals this weekend, but the Australian refused to be drawn on the rumours circulating the paddock that he is already deep in discussions with a number of teams about a ride for the 2011 season.
I think Honda is weary of catering to Pedrosa and him not putting up the results consistantly...maybe they will change riders next year? Honda need an American in their factory team, as it is their biggest market and the Yanks are only interested in Yank riders. Big mistake what Honda did to Nicky Hayden. Bet they regret that now. Ducati really want an Italian on an Italian bike in the factory team. Hayden is good for business in the USA, so I think they have always wanted Rossi, or Marco S at a pinch- depending on how he does in his rookie year...and gets a haircut
maybe we will end up with a bike version of A1GP.....with countries racing each other.......we could use the Britten.........with Stroud...........
Ha! your so old school.. a modern Supersport bike would probably hammer the Britten now. Supersport lap times are SBK lap times 2 years ago..
yeah yeah....i guess i was struggling to find an NZ bike.........some interesting changes coming in MotoGP with the engine size and weight changing.......
Quickest in the first premier class session of the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France weekend, the World Champion edged ahead of Casey Stoner and his Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo. Valentino Rossi struck the first psychological blow of the Le Mans weekend as he set the fastest time of the hour-long FP1 on Friday afternoon, taking his Yamaha YZR-M1 prototype round in a best time of 1’34.402 on his final turn of the session. In blazing sunshine and at 28ºC, with a track temperature measuring 44ºC, the Fiat Yamaha rider was 0.106s faster than Ducati Marlboro rival Casey Stoner, whom he beat to top the timesheet right at the end. Current Championship leader and last year’s race winner Jorge Lorenzo was third quickest, at a further three-hundredths off Stoner
rossi ....lorenzo..pedrosa.....good front row....but as we know it means bugger all.......other then the two yams are riding well on this track....stoner is a massive .416 behind!...
