Or do they just do latte's at Deus'es I put a wee post about a ride this weekend (11/07/10) that our Laxed Out Hamilton group is going on up to Kaiuia, Miranda and Clevedon way and asked if any Aucklanders were interested in meeting up somewhere? At this stage we have 15-18 riders. Yet no-one from Auckland seems interested and I started thinking when did you guys last ride?? By that I mean 4 or more bikes together! seems like ages ago, maybe even the Hawkes bay rally Whats up with you guys??
I can understand you asking the question, Murray. It kinda looks like the wheels have fallen off and everyone is hibernating. . . . Some are doing maintenance on their bikes, others are tangled up in family/domestic duties, and the weather lately hasn't been particularly favorable. Pathetic I know, but there you go . . . I suppose the two big rides to Taumaranui and Hastings this year have also scratched a big itch for some of us, and highlighted to others the benefit of doing further upgrades/TLC to their bikes. Wendy & I have done a few short rides, but haven't had the time lately to do much more. I need to do a service on the front end of my bike (change fork seals & fork oil) and change all the other oils too, so I'm not keen to do much riding at the moment either until that's done.

I'm recovering from surgery,so missed out on some good late summer riding.But was able to go for a ride a couple of weeks ago (in the rain....I'm even tough,see) which pushed my mileage to service time.So now it's maintenance time....oils,helicoil driveshaft drain plug,repack Supertrapp.A car has got in the way for this weekend.But,no problems - I'll ride when I ride.
Perhaps sitting in a queue of vehicles with 10 in front and 10 behind doesn't seem as exciting to Aucklanders as it might for those people to whom a traffic jam comprises three tractors and a donkey cart.
LOL Bender. Murray I'd love to come mate, but the coal burner is laid up. Wheels off, front forks off tomorrow for progressive transplant, rear end to go back on, seat away at upholsterers, fuel tap repair kits on the way from Yapan! etc, etc, am hoping to have her up and running, completed by end of August.

Yes it seems a bit quiert Murray. I still ride the old Ambo when in Auckland but just as a commuter, the rest of the time I'm fangin' on the quad bike playing Westie farmer. Should be up for a ride in a few weeks. I agree about the weather- we have had some premium winter riding weather and I have not been able to enjoy it...
yeah...weather......me..im a summer rider....don't see the fun anymore in getting wet and cold
speaking of coffee...when i worked for Spotless in the Auckland head office.....we had a Barista full time in the lunch room...all we had to do was tell them what we wanted..oh yeah we had a tenis court and gym as well.......
