After two weeks of motorcycle commuting I have made a few observations.
Bus lanes are great as they afford clear runs of car free riding....however, you must be even more cautious as motorists are expecting large busses not small and almost invisible to the naked motorists eyes motorcycles.
Beware of turning traffic as mostly they are tuning accross stationary traffic.
Then there is the motorist who can't guage 50 metres and drives hundreds of metres in the bus lane.....you have to watch for them as they appear from out of stationary lines of vehicles with no warning.

I tried public transport a couple of times...but the American term " looser cruiser" enters my head every time I am on one....and miss one when its running early and 1/2 an hour of standing around.....feck that.

Ducati 900ss's might not be the first choice ( I unfortunately sold Toaster...) but I do arrive at work with a smile on my face....and a certain amount of " oh er.....he rides a bike"

Nice day here...off on the Darmah to Dodgies to do some sparkie bits......neighbours are loving the daily V twin symphony....

Mr Volty, what are these Bus Lanes, you speak of? You must be living in the "Big Smoke". Around these parts, we're lucky to see a bus, let alone a designated bus lane.

Mind you the driving habits of rural folk "leave a lot to be desired" as well, so each of us has their own little hell navigating their safe passage each day.

I haven't been in here for a while, had heaps of 'stuff' going on, and TBH, I am strictly a fair weather rider....I just cannot cope with being cold on the bike! Yeah, I'm a big girls blouse, I know!
Warmer weather is just around the corner....
