Now is the winter of our discontent Made glorious summer by this uplifting thought... When/where is the next BFTP rally? Strange as it may seem - I am looking forward to hitting the road in the sunshine to meet up with you horrible lot. Any suggestions - ideas - votes? (I have heard of a friendly spot in Traumanui...) All we need are: Roads with corners A place to lay our heads Roads with fast straights Alcohol Roads with no gravel Food Roads with no popo
There's a few who have expressed an interest in the classic bike weekend at New Plymouth some time in October. This may be the catalyst for a BFTP gathering?
Some say the roads of Taranaki are sealed... Some say the road from 8 mile junction to Stratford is filled with corners.... Some say there is a brewery on the right.... quick check list: Darmah running...tick Darmah WOF...tick Registered...tick AA Breakown recovery...tick Spare bike just in case...tick looking promising for classic rally.
There has been talk of another BFTP get together. I'm sure everyone who has been to the HB one and Traumanui is keen. New Plymouth is a good halfway point for the north island at least. So firstly, who is going to the classic rally anyway? And can we have a date... Maybe late summer I can host something out at Naike, but for now the facilities at my place are (politely) very basic. I will try to improve things in time for the classic festival at Puke, then I can offer some accomadation for out of towners- that could be our end of summer gig? Plus from my place to the racetrack is a very nice wee pootle If anyone has not been to the Puke festival, it's good, really well worth the trip.
26 - 28 Nov http://www.classicbikes.co.nz/events/
Well done, Diggers. That date should give everyone plenty of time to get project bikes sorted, funds organised etc. We have the bones of a plan.
Sounds like a plan. There would have to be a very good reason to get me to go to New Plymouth and I have just found it. One question: Will we Jappas be thrown bound and gagged onto a burning pyre of our bikes?
Will we Jappas be thrown bound and gagged onto a burning pyre of our bikes? Do they contain magnesium????...I can bring some VW crankcases to chuck on to give your Suzuki more sparkle
I think I can safely say (judging by the weight) there is no magnesium on my bike. Bring some anyway. It's not a proper bonfire without sparkle.
What are you doing wasting time on the net? Get back to work...
yeah dadpole the riders/owners of the "other" bikes will look down on the "ujm" group because it makes them feel better...

Attendence National Rally cost is about $160-00, I believe a big part of that is cost of facility I will have to dig around to confirm thou
I'd expect that for punters like us just wandering between the bikes on Saturday afternoon, there'll only be a token charge, maybe a gold coin donation. I hope.
