All the modern riding boots, even when they're called Touring and not Racing are to my liking very stiff and bulky (and too hot for the summer) from being over-complicated and over-engineered with all the protector inserts, zips, velcros, oil-resistant soles, etc etc.

What I'd like is the old fashioned simple leather boots like from the 70's (or there off), but made NEW.
The retro-styled Jackets are readily available but I haven't seen any boots to match.

Anyone know of a good source?

I have the same problem too Psy. My current boot are too "racey" but the only alternatives were worse. Mine have toe sliders too. I took them off but this left a strange section with two screw holes. If you get any pics of the Paraflex boots can you post them on here?

Army surplus shops. Nice lace up plain black boots. And they take a pink enamel paint quite well if thats your flavour

I've got some Huang Rebs from CNell, cheap as @ $100,just to save my trials boots for the real thing.I don't like the high heels - I don't mind being nearly as tall as the real people, but they make me walk funny.I need to get back into some tall lace ups.

Yeah mate lots. Used em for riding too. Great ankle support and very breathable.
Thing I liked was the toe isnt bulky. Easy to get under the levers.

Gixxer is sadly still in the shed. Wife is only 3 months from dropping. Finally finished remodling the babys room. I knew the baby would be expencive. But bloody hell......
