Hey Dodgy. Didn't you post that you are with Farmside as your ISP? If so, how are you finding their service. I have been having fun with them for a number of reasons, one of which has been overcharging. This is todays email to them: Hi Christine. Just imagine how much easier it would be for your customers if you put this information in the invoice instead of the Micky Mouse way you do it now. Repeated phone calls resulted in me being told, first, no overpayment was made, then second, it would be corrected on the next invoice. There is no mention of this credit on any invoice we have had so you can imagine how confusing this is. Perhaps your billing system should be contracted out to the local primary school, as I feel they could do a better job of it. Regards Keith I would have been a natural for the diplomatic service.
Yes the Adobe PDF is hard to understand, and they tried double charging me for the install of the dish but other than that sweet I'm only on my second account billing so 1 out of 2 were ok. The Dish broardband is pretty good speed wise, I may only be with them for 2 years unless they change or gain another satalite because the signal only just makes it between 2 kauri trees that have grown straight up and soon they will spread their branches and block my signal. Shoulda seen me with ladder over my shoulder and chainsaw in the other hand, the dish guy chasing me "You can't chop that down it's a kauri" "I want's me bloody broadband!!" He manageed to locate the dish and carefully aim it between the two trees as a stop gap for a signal.
Same thing happened here. he just managed to get a L.O.S. above the Macrocarpas. We are on our third modem now. The system dropped out up to 50 times a day - for at least 2 minutes at a time. After being on the phone to them every second day, the problem is behind us. 2 to 3 times a day now YAY. We have our phone via satellite too. It is crap and totaly unreliable. We are going back to landline. They have now replaced every bit of equipment here now and have only done so because i was calling them all the time. I don't think they like me now... As far as service goes ROFL. Thet are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Emails are a waste of time as they never reply without a follow up call from me a few days afterward. The billing system is a mess, and we found they were also overcharging on data overage. They were charging 17 cents per Mb but said 10 cents on the advertising. I pulled them up on it on one bill (only 20 Mb over) and told them to check their advertising. A couple of days later on their website they announced a "reduction" to 10 cents per meg. I wonder how many others were overcharged, and for how long. On a positive note - broadband is nice, even if it does drop out now and again.
No dropping out yet, look forward to careful bill scrutiny in the future. They were my only option for broadband under 100 bucks a month.
