finally found a good frame and wo an behold it used to be burts
YAYYYYYYYYYYYY
And there is a little more history to it than that. The frame use to belong to a one Mr Sheriffs (pre 1995). So. what are you going to fit in her? a loncin will fit but tight, a tf100/125 will go in with some simple mods to the motor mounts; or a honda h100/mb100 seems to be the easiest fit. you will need to strengthen it up a bit given your size and/or what power plant you put in her. Don't forget shes a little bike made to be raced by little asian people... what bits did you get? (spare forks + shock, seat, tank, clipons???). when i sold it, it needed new headset bearings. find a local wrecker and see if they have wreaked any suzuki AX100s or gp125 etc they are all the same i think. Speedpro or F5dave would be able to answer that for sure.
you will need to strengthen it up a bit given your size and/or what power plant you put in her. Bahahahaha HE"S CALLING YOU FAT!!!! From me is brotherly mocking, from Bert...FACT Mb100 or OLD tf would be the go wouldn't it? There is a real opportunity to build a sub 80kg bike here. Mb 100's are quick as fuck as we all know, but finding a good one is like bloody hen's teeth! Didn't the guy with all the XR parts in welly have a nice condition tf engine? But from memory it was around $700 bucks, which is too much. But maybe he's worth a call? Or young Sales?

Shit, that second engine looks alright eh...and 11hp out the box!

ive found a ts 125 that i might get its $150 come as a complete bike with a spare carb and exhorst
Don't forget you are limited to a 24mm carb on a 125 twostroke. I'd suggest on of these: http://shop.scootling.co.nz/index.ph...&productId=606 if they can get one in for ya. A lot of people have got some good power out of a ts125s. I've got a few bits if you head down that path.
hey bert, I may have a similar lil engine I'm piecing together any chance that amongst your bits and pieces you have a TS125 (ER) barrel?
no mate sorry. a few TF100 barrels. Try Skunk; last time we were talking he said something about 125 bits (but I wasn't paying much attention)... if not Trade me is the way to go. don't forget to read Graeme Bells earlier two stroke tuning book, there is a full description of the roadracing porting modifications to a early RM125 (76-78 something like that), the TS barrels are the same as these RM barrels. some quality time with a file and you can knock some real power out of them 18+ should be easily achievable. (not really sure why Team ESE stuff around with the GP125)???
o yeap choice I have read most of graham bells book didn't realise the RM's were so similar tho, think I'm just going to attack my TF barrel with a file instead of getting a new TS one. I don't if it will ever make it to a dyno but my mate just went to the dark side so as long as it can beat him I'l be happy! Cheers bout your frame too but I picked up a rolling MC22 last night up here so its all coming together. I think team ESE may like the rotary valve as preference to reeds?
have a wee look at the following intake (big gains to be made here; they don't breath well standard): http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...hmentid=203281 barrel: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...hmentid=203280 port map: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/al...hmentid=203239 note how large the intakes are and how much different from the standard TF. the exhaust is a little on the large size and gobbled a few pistons at high RPM but when she ran write it was a weapon. it would give an Fxr a fright. I've never liked the crankcase read setup on a suzuki but it does give it a little more pump at the bottem end. =CJ= TF had the crankcase reed welded up with larger piston/cranks ports and it went rather well. you can generate a lot of power from a piston ported motor... I always thought that welding a reed block (from a TZR/RD etc) to the barrel and open up the whole intake would enable some serious bang for bucks... especially water cooled
Yea I had to check and re check my measurements I need to practically double the size of the inlets. Have been toying with the idea of getting a TS/RM 185 or 250 reed block and see whether there's any chance of fitting that into the crank case.
