Hi guys, our Hamilton Laxed out Riders group is looking to kick start 2011 after a quiet spell over the last 6 weeks with xmas and hollies etc. The Auckland BFTP chapter "We ride once a month. Our rides take 3 - 5 hours including stops and are generally held rain or shine." have also been a wee bit quiet so if any want to join us please feel free to register in our calendar entry!! As you will see in the calendar entry I am shouting breakfast at the Hotel from about 9.30 so need people to register for numbers. Hope to see some of you here!! cheers and have a great 2011
LOL! Murray, thats a kind and generous offer, just wish i could take you up on it.The old "we ride every month" one nearly made me choke on my bourbon. I hope shes a ripper turn out and that plenty of the BFTP guys and girls get organised and go down.
Yeah, the monthly rides seem to have been superseded by less frequent weekenders . . . . evidently these old rockets aren't as unreliable as we had first assumed. Heck, here we are planning our first Burt Munro later this year. Who'd've thunk? First, Waiheke. Next, the South Island. Then, who knows? Poland, anyone?
After watching Long Way Round again, who is in for Mongolia and parts adjacent? What would the locals make of our motley crew?
What would the locals make of our motley crew do you think your Suzuki 90 Garden Runnabout is up to Outer Mongolia? I invaded Gallapoli once on the R75/5....got assaulted by Turks selling carpets, previously retreated from France but got bogged down in the Hypermarket in Dunkirk, the Brits left lots of trollys of beer in the isles, crossing into Germany was fine as they thought I was one of them on the BMW.....then it was tally ho and breakfast on the Unter den Lintens mit sausages and kraut. Got as far as Hungary before hitting the iron curtain...ouch....ah 1989...a year to remember....
I was thinking of the 1100. I am sure it would handle the conditions fine....
true. but can you acess the spare parts we will need? or do we just do a Dodgy and pack spares as luggage?
Hmmm, knobblies & extended shocks on Dadpole's 1100 . . . . could work . . . .
That's what I like abour the BFTP crew. No matter how insane an idea is, someone will always be for it.
Back on subject - we currently have 12 bikes so far and no BFTP members except me and Trina.
I'd go, but am on strict instructions to stay local and under 100kph
I thought I saw our name on the list Murray
sorry mate...will be a great day...but i am working the ART day tomorrow at Puki
Enjoy Murray, I have overstayers tonight, and am going to Pukekohe for a visit then I really better get some food shopping for my guests as the takeaway ain't just a quick pop down the road so I have to actually cook
Had 22 bikes and a fantastic ride. BFTP was represented by M/M JMK, Trina and myself. Pity some of you guys couldnt make it. Great roads!!
