I've been meaning to go there over the holidays (I'm already back at work now...) but the days just slipped by and I never got there...
It's kinda difficult stretching a half an hour lunch break, that I'm entitled to, to one and a half hours... Anyone know a good excuse I could try use ??

Sorry cmoore, I have a guy coming up from Welly to collect parts he bought about 3 months ago, and hopefully a chap from the HB will be stopping in as well... otherwise I would make the 120 odd km to the big city.
Hey when do we get to see the Wanganui races on TV? I'm hanging out for some bike racing.... hate this time of year because of that

Unfortunately I will still be away, not due back until Saturday. Pity, would have been good to put some faces to names. Next time, hopefully.

Negotiating with the CEO as we are supposed to be going to a wedding that day...

Saturday late arvo/evening the wedding is. My plan is to get to a couple of the Amon days at Hampton Downs (particularly the first Saturday, Jan 21st) then the classics at Puke, not sure about Paeroa.

Apparently fitting race meeting spectatorship and a wedding into one day is far too much for me. I don't know why people invite me to weddings. I used to get pissed and antisocial, now I just get antisocial and I want to lurch up there and block tackle the groom just as he's about to say "with my worldy goods I thee endow...." I've never yet been to a wedding where the woman had more worldly goods, other than shoes and make up bottles, than the poor bastard she's about to take for a ride... err I mean wed.

how about we make places to meet at the upcoming events...so we can at least catch up for a coffee or drink during or afterwards, whether we are participating or not......so faces can be put to names...

ART day....must be a puki pub near there?

Paeroa - long day...but maybe we say meet after at a pub?

    etc etc....

I'll be going to the classics and Paeroa (if I am spared).

Last time BFTP met up in the Paeroa RSA , which is OKish, but I prefer the Ohinimuri club. Views of the track front AND rear and the beer the same price. Also they have ladies who make very nice luncheon rolls and such . Where I shall ensconce myself as usual (the club, not the ladies) . Classics I always wander around looking at stuff, then loads of people say "Oh I saw you but you ignored me" and are offended thereby. Well, it's not my fault if you are not as interesting as an early BTH magneto drive or a leading link Douglas fork.
