D Day: Friday the 28th of January.
This was the day of Liberation.... The plan was to fly into the South Island , land on the strip carefully prepared by the Blenheim underground get collected in a Mercedes and head into town.
On arrival I was whisked away by Beachbum ( not his real name) and I was shown some of the military weapons stashed there....American fighter aircraft wrapped up in plastic....Vietnam war era planes being rebuilt.....
Then it was into town to rescue the Commando from the South.

Following the cunning rescue met with little resistance ,a ferry was commandeered and a course set to the North Island....

Suspecting the South Island Secret Service would notice the Norton missing it was decided to avoid SH 1 and head over the mountains ....
    Then suddenly disaster struck....
The SISS had sabotaged the Nortons electrical system.....there we were trapped in Martinborough...with nothing but a case of Pinot Gris...... quick thinking has us going again with two Big Jim lantern batteries wired up....

We know the SISS were on our trail so the plan was to confuse them with strange place names....

It worked....they could only read English ones....mwahhhh....mwahhhhaaa.

We then thought to seek re inforcements ...... take that SISS

This was the poster that the SISS were distributing...a man burnt by SISS death ray...

The only cure for SISS death ray was to go to 1600m and let the cold air reduce the redness....

Great Escapes don't run on empty stomachs so $16.00 was sprung on a big Mangakino Breakie....ah...

On the way another prison camp was found but time was running out......

Finally after 500 miles of twisting roads and eluding the SISS we arrrived at HQ.... Leader was pleased to see us....

Boots with a heavier sole would be good....had a couple of spit backs.... mainly due to the lantern batterys lack of voltage for Mr Boyer.

So,why did the battery die...a charging problem? I thought that only happened to Japanese bikes.

Volty, good story! Not just a wordsmith, but a photosmith as well. Dodgy looks like a combination of Cleese and Borat, lol.

The battery discharged....we tried a battery out of another bike with the meter and not charging...
oddly kicking it the charge light and tail light glimmered.....
If I'm allowed in the shed tomorrow I'll have a play.....

Looks like a mighty fine bike there, Voltaire. You would have passed close to my place on your travels too. If I had known the time, I would have given you an armed ecort.

One of those pics would make a good desktop pic if not for the strange red creature pawing the bike.

12 km outside Pahiatua. Very brave of you to slow down by the brewery. I have seen the local talent and have concluded that they filmed the ads elswhere.
