How do I get to Puke race track? From southway Puke end, is it sign posted? Last time I was there was for the hotrod swap meets decades ago. Man have'nt even been to AK for years either. Might come up for the Classics, have'nt decided whether to ride or drive. Spose all the parking areas etc etc are all well laid out, and will BFTP be anywhere easily visible? Cheers guys, might see ya.
From their website he easiest Route from North or South is to leave SH1 at Bombay heading west towards Pukekohe. The motorway exits here are well sign posted. Initially you will pass the BP Service Station (on your left hand side) and the road you are now travelling on is Mill Road. Travel along this road for approximately 6.5km (note that after 2.5km the road changes names and becomes Pukekohe East Road). On entering Pukekohe you will reach a T-Junction, here you will turn slightly left onto Stadium Drive and almost immediately come upon a small roundabout. Again, turn left onto Manukau Rd. Continue travelling down Manukau Rd for approximately 1km. Pukekohe Park, Home of Motor Racing, Counties Racing Club and Counties Function Centre, is situated on the left at the South End of Manukau Road, as you head out of Pukekohe towards Tuakau

Same Tony, 0212112511. If your going to ride, you can stop in at my place on the Sunday morning, a few of us will be leaving here around 9.30am Or come up Saturday and stay Sat night here... door is always open and I feel a debt to you guys for your wonderful hostieness when I was in the HB
Cheers guys, looks like I'm def coming, stuff it, gonna ride the Ducati up. May be a few of us and prob only a day event for us, Saturday, but who knows....... Will make a final call depending on a few issues on Friday.
The fun way to Pukekohe Raceway is to turn off at Huntly, or take the alt routh North at Otrahonga. Go to the power station and follow Heatherington road until it ends, turn right and follow that road all the way to Pukekohe which gives you about 75km of twisting roads. No further turn offs, that is Highway 22 which goes to the race track. Wickle knows the way
was making all the plans to come thru but at this stage have two staff ( one in late fifties an other over 60) having a spate with each other an refusing to work along side each other my boss an I had a meeting with them,, result my boss lost his cool an said I quote " you two grow up or -uck off!" so at this stage may be doing some long hours till sort it all out,,, Dooly , Dodgy's place is easy as to find and from there ,there is sign -posts you can read if your not low level flying like a crop-duster
...and he greets you in the appropriate T shirt ( well maybe).
Dodgy hears you coming through the valley....hang on...thats sounds all worng.......correct,,,,but wrong!!.....
Probably worth a wobble down there to get a bit of Castrol R up the nasal passages. Watch out for a solid gold airhead BMW parked somewhere in the grounds. The length of the southern motorway ( and then some) is a total fag though for me.
Not if you go via SH 16 to Kumeu, across to Scenic Drive, down the new SH 20 off Hillsborough road....and off at Gt South Road..... Then over motorway by Papakura and round the back way.......get up early....
Damit, the missus is insisting that I don't ride up as I'm still 'too crook' in her words, but take the car, in which case she'll come too. But part of the reason for riding is not to bring her...........can't they figure it out!!!! Especially since my models bikes never came with pillon pegs..........as I told her....after I took them off and sold/hid them. Either way, whoever wins, I'll be there. And I've got the Duc all in bits, servicing, getting ready for a trip.......as you tend to have to do with them beforehand.
Those are the roads ( and others) I ride in the weekends. I am baby-sitting a Honda VTR but I won't be riding such an uncomfortable beast down to Puke. Is it all over for Pukekohe or are they refurbishing it? So many stories out there.
