I think the new Commando 961 is a stunning piece of kit, but the price is likely to be in the vicinity of $40K by the time we see them in NZ.

OTOH, this new Kawasaki W800 retro looks quite cool, and is likely to be about a third of the 961's price:

Yeah Jase, the W800 is a re-release of the W650 which stopped production a few years ago. It's had a few tweaks including the capacity hike & fresh graphics, and now has fuel injection and 60hp instead of the W650's 49hp.

    Here's another view:

Beatles tribute band, you say? Fair point perhaps, but the W650 was a pleasant enough bike in it's own right, with comfortable riding position, good handling and brakes. Reliability was a given, obviously. The only complaint was it's lack of power, which made it quite boring and uninspiring. The W800, with it's 20% extra mumbo should prove to be a more entertaining proposition, and one i'd personally consider.

Yes I saw the new 800cc (W800?) at Puke in a really nice classy green with smoke pearl and it looked absolutley beautiful. A standard of finish higher than the Bonneville range IMHO

Bon Scott died 30 years ago but I'm sure you remember it like yesterday even though you can't remember what you did yesterday
I really liked the first album with Brian (none after that though) Back in Black is a real classic album

"She was a fast machine, she kept her loving clean, she was the best damn woman that I ever seen, she had sighty sighs, telling me no lies, and knocking me out with those American thighs"
