After 3 years of sitting around grathing rust, I put the motor back together on my cb400n yesterday, with alot of swearing and a bit of blood. I thought that i had stuffed up the thread on one of the head bolts until i dismantled the engine once again, and found that i had put a short bolt where a long bolt was ment to go. After sorting that out and the carbs (the japanese have smaller hands than me), i thought i was near the finish line until i push the start button, and nothing happened, so now i will have to go through the electrical system, and find out what has gone so horrobly wrong.

Sometimes, i wish i didn't love my old bikes.

I think we all wonder that from time to time. Why can't I just buy a new bike??

I have done the short bolt thing on Moto Guzzi sumps more than twice as 2 of the 14 securing bolts are 5mm shorter than the rest. Still annoys the crap out of me.

    You are not alone.

    Good progress though!

Success!!!!!, got the cb to start tonight, the starter solinoid was faulty, so replace it with a spare. Still sounds a little rough, and a few olds and ends to sort out, should be on the road in the next 3 months
