hi all, been a long while since ive posted am glad to see im still a member hehe what have i been up too? well basically work, work, and more work! it would be fair to say that the recession really kicked in for me last year so i let my ph and net go to save $$$$$$ (thus no time on kb) ive sold my pair of gsx750's altho am speaking to a guy with a 1980 gsx1100 which ive been after for some time...seems he's ready to sell it to me, and for an obscenely low price...... ill not reveal too many details on here as wickle might sweep in on it! lol it appears to have been hot rodded a bit some time back (the 90's were had on everything eh) and is about 1270cc or so hopefully that has affected reliability etc anyhows, im hoping to get out and about riding again soon so hope to see some of your friendly faces again this year!
Good to hear from you again. That 1100 sounds good, so grab it before Wickle tracks it down. They are as reliable as a hammer, so any half-sensible mods should be fine. A 1270 kit should be OK as long as you keep an eye on any possible overheating issues. An oil cooler should sort that.
good point thanks dadpole...hows your 'ol hammer going? been out riding much?
Hey there Ed, there a stroooong engine. Chris's Drag bike is putting out 200+ hp and is reliable.......ish, with a big dose of NOS it does try to push the crank out the bottom of the cases tho
thats farkin insane jase! im off over to wickles nowish to have a squiz at a gs850 he's housing ....could be a cheep 'back on the road' option
hey eddie, good to see you're back. and sticking with GS's... oh yeah
hows the bass comin along Ed
Eddie, good to hear that you're back. Sorry I missed your call on Sunday. Did you end up buying either of these GS's?
thanks guys...good to be in touch again yeah, still keen on the gs's psy, wickle has been babysitting a gs850 for a local bloke, i took it for a ride with tate and wickle on sunday and it goes well...and may be available for a song...which incidentally is the correct price for me i was gonna pop over on it sunday diesel but could do that any other time...i think youve seen it, it belongs to gary..twin upswept pipe (yuck) how you been colin? the bass has been on the shelf a bit lately but ive been listening to a bit of 'the stranglers' and feeling the urge again also thinking i mite learn that bassline to 'jump into the fire' by harry nillson...do you know it?
FF, that bike of Gary's pulled quite well, the only time I rode with him. You'll need to check out the charging system though.
dont think any problem with charging apart from big lack of use!
hey . Diesel we could trim your 1100 down like this one; http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-358839291.htm
all good cheers Ed.........ya cant go wrong with the stranglers mate.......saw them at the IOM........bloody grouse dont know the nillsen song..........off to you tube to check it out
Eddie, You wern't gonna get the chop mate. The recession has been tough for a lot of us and besides, Mark vouched for you and said you would be back. It's up to you to make him regret it I got made redundant even before the dive happened over here by the Evil German Multinational I used to slave for as they did their trimming very early on. And given that they have/had a large toxic chemical w/house in the vicinity of Manchester St that I was in charge of the safety and environmental aspects, it worked out kinda well actually Wishing you all the best in getting back on your feet, and 2wheels Regards, Mike.
wickle - Yesterday, 21:44 hey . Diesel we could trim your 1100 down like this one; http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-358839291.htm I'm keeping mine in it's original livery thanks. If the Kms are genuine, that one's very realistically priced. Mine's an '83, and has only done 42K.
