According to www.thekneeslider.com Harley Davidsons are to be made completely in India for the asian market. Scrolling down is a new Morgan 3 wheeler that Ixion would look totally at home in. Chocks away.
Will the exhaust note go from Potato Potato to Masala Marsala...?
or Buttie Buttie It is the way of the world, Honda gets a lot made in China now, Triumph assembles the Classic Range in Thailand, and Yamaha do the the China thing too, as do Suzuki with the GN250.
The GN250......how many of them around!!!........must be close to the biggest selling bike...
Oh, I say, I DO like that Morgan. What a jolly good idea making them again. Never understood why they stopped. It should go like stink. They used to have excellent roadholding too, if a trifle idiosyncratic. But nothing a pukka chap couldn't manage.
It should go like stink. I suspect embarrassingly so.Someone once brought a couple of farm karts down to our dirt track, they just had old motorcycle engines in them, poxy little things.I couldn't get near them on my TM400....I faked a plug change and wouldn't go out when they did again. There were 1/4 midgets at Rosebank on Sunday, they are powered by XR200's and driven by 10 year old kids - I don't think you could get an XR200 around that track as fast as those thing do. An S&S powered Morgan - take a Vespa along so you've got an excuse.
If those Spyder things class as bikes (which seems to be the received wisdom), then so also the Morgan ought to class as a bike.
That Moggy does seem like a splendid device. Do you think they would part exchange your oriental motorcycle for it? Dressing up like Biggles and dashing about the countryside would be spiffing fun and possibly disconcerting for on-coming motorists.
Vintage bike club in England lets Morgan 3 wheelers race with sidecars.
What about that sidecar they had to ban? Two guys sitting side by side behind a Mini subframe powered by a Cooper S engine...and a single wheel behind.
I think that was all to do with age of components. Everything was 'modern'. I think they ran some sort of handicap system for the morgans. Some would say the Morgan WAS the handicap! Suppose you could run Reliant Robins (that ones probably lost on Kiwis) think backward Morgan but 1/2 the horsepower and non of the handling.

Owen Greenwoods "mini" http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=44109 it was found in a barn where it had sat for a decade or so and restored in the last couple of years
I read in a mag recently that he stopped riding/driving it because of all the whinging..... Should Harley call their bikes made in India Indians.....

Thems the ones. Mate of mine turned 1 over towing a dirty big caravan. Tore the chassis clean off the back axle which was still sat there attached to said caravan. You could drive'em on a bike licence.
