I'm ready to get some tyres for the Triumph, thinking Avons as the Dunlop TT's look too much like MX tyres....I saw Continentals on a Bonnie last week....BMW tyres?

Who sells them apart from Cycletreads?
    best price dodgy?

You can't get the original Avon roadrunner anymore, and they were a great tyre on Nortons...and others.I never liked the ''new'' Roadrunner. The TT100 has been around a long time, and has benefited from modern developments - they are a much better tyre than they look.I still can't believe how good my K70's are,I feel more confident on them than modern tyres...but that's how we do it on my planet.

Cycletreads don't list Avons on their website. I have the Super Venom on my Norton and it is grippy. There are bugger all 19's on the Cycletreads site. You may have to go to the manufacturers website..then get someone like Dury tyres to order some in or get them sent direct to you..

    19 x 3.25 on the front and a whopping 19 x 4.00 on the back....an no those Midias ones on TM are a J rating.....up to 100 kmph..

The Avon Roadriders replace the Venoms rated to 139mph which would take a pretty big down hill in netural

I think it would take throwing it out of a plane to approach that speed, used the Venoms on my last Ducati they were a really good tyre

I'd be looking for a 90/90-19 front and a 110/90-18 rear, although the size chart say the 100/90-19 is closer and the 110/90-18 is smaller in diameter so just ignore what i said http://www.bridgestone.com/products/...tlax/bt45.html

I see they still show a 325-19 and 400-18 in the BT45 but they may not import them

Step out of your comfort zone and use a Speedmaster MkII on the front...you need to embrace narrow tyres.A friend of mine uses one on the front of his Jawa powered featherbed, and he thinks it's a great tyre. It's race compound, but still unusual to see such a thing used on a race bike. They were usually matched with the Avon SM rear tyre, and I see them on the Avon site.Like the K70 they look square - but that's not how they work in the real world.

I see cycletreads list the Michelin Macadam 50 in stock in the correct sizes, saw some good reviews on a BMW site about them

Metzeler do a H rated 3.25 Lazertec front. Out of luck for a 19inch rear though by the looks- http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/c.../sport_touring

Used them on my Monza and they were great wet or dry and had a really steep profile allowing massive lean angles. Dunno about longevitiy as I sold it after 3500miles but they seemed to be wearing well. At 173kg it is close to the Triumph weight wise

Used Macadams on GS450, brilliant, could scrape footpegs no problem once they warmed up (which DID take a while). Ah, the Avon SM, had one on back of Tiger 100, nearly had he under a milk tanker when it dropped off edge of tyre and centre stand dug in
